Part Thirty
"You're still here."
The sun was already up, its rays shining through the shutter when Jimin woke up in his soft bed. Sweet memories from last night returned to him in an instant, putting a weak smile on his still tired face."Jungkook?"
The blue-haired took a lazy look at the other side of the bed but found it empty. He was confused at first and pushed himself up by the elbows to let his eyes wander over the fairly large room. Still, the brunet was nowhere to be seen. Where was he?
"Jungkook?," Jimin called out a little louder this time, but there was no response.
Then, it dawned on him.
Jungkook must've left him.
He had probably realized that relationships weren't in his nature. Or maybe he had finally remembered that he was still young, that there was still so much, especially many other people, to explore and Jimin was simply keeping him from doing so. Perhaps Jungkook even went back to that Taehyung dude he had been seeing during their break up.
Jimin cursed himself for having slept so long, for not having heard the door closing, for not having sensed the missing warmth the brunet usually radiated.
Maybe it wasn't too late. Maybe Jungkook had just left.
Jimin could still run after him, right?
Tears were forming in the man's eyes as he rolled himself off the mattress and hurried to the hallway. "Jungkook, please, wait for me!" Whilst crying his eyes out, breathing panically, he tried to move the door chain but his vision was already too blurry to get anything done.
Jimin fell on his knees, curling into a ball, hoping he'd just disappear. "Don't leave me, please. Please, come back to me!," he cried out with an excruciating pain in his chest. His heart was shattered, his worst nightmare had come true. Once again, he was all alone. There was no way in hell Jimin would survive this another time. He couldn't accept his fate, or rather, his repeating past.
Jimin couldn't lose him again.
"Please, I'm begging you!" The blue-haired pounded on the wooden door vigorously. In spite of his willingness to fight for his happiness with Jungkook, the elder felt utterly helpless. "I love you! I love you! I thought you loved me, too."
Then, he broke down.
With his naked, shaking body lying on the cold floor, Jimin tried to scream but his voice had left him. His mind went completely blank and it was a struggle to breathe as well. He felt as if he could faint any moment now. The blue-haired was a wreck, he had always been.
He was a fool, too.
A fool to believe someone could ever love him the way he did, to stand by him through thick and thin and to help him get over his ruthless demons. Because here he was once again; on his own, broken and lonely.
He was bare, stripped of his soul the way he had been stripped of his clothes.
"Jimin?"
The voice of an angel resonated from behind him, making the elder look up at the flawlessly beautiful face approaching him. "What happened?," the other asked, eyes wide open in shock when he crouched down to cup his boyfriend's face. "What's wrong, baby? Why are you crying?"
Jimin was speechless. He solely gazed at the tall man in front of him, allowing his thumbs to wipe away his burning hot tears.
It broke Jungkook's heart to see the love of his life this crushed. The brunet planted loving kisses on the other's forehead, cheeks and, last but not least, his plump lips. "Tell me, love."
That's when the blue-haired relaxed.
"You're still here," he trailed off.
Jungkook slightly furrowed his brows before cracking a faint smile. "Of course I am. Where else would I be?"
"I'm sorry. I panicked," Jimin replied after having taken a deep breath, and wrapped his still trembling arms around his boyfriend's torso. He inhaled his familiar scent, face against the crook of Jungkook's neck. The younger smelled sweet, like a beautiful field of flowers. It seemed surreal, having him back in his arms. "You weren't there when I woke up, so I-"
"So you assumed I had abandoned you," the brunet finished Jimin's sentence.
The blue-haired had really been willing to run out of his apartment as fast as he could, in search of Jungkook, even though he wasn't even dressed. Jimin must've been completely out of his mind.
Jungkook shook his head softly before getting back on his feet, pulling his weakened boyfriend up with him in the process. "I love you, silly. Don't you ever forget that."
"I know you do. I'm sorry."
"Stop apologizing already," Jungkook chuckled as he headed to the kitchen, dragging Jimin behind him. "Now, put on some clothes and come back to me, yeah? Let yourself be spoiled."
The scent of fried batter filled the elder's nostrils immediately, making his mouth water. Jimin suddenly noticed how hungry he was.
"I'm making pancakes."
