Hide and Seek

Introduction

The year is 3020 and the planet has changed. Countries and cities have new names and technology has grown immensely. Every country has a Controller. A Controller is a person who chooses what happens to the country that they are running. Things like weather cycles and what types of buildings will be built. As it is 3020, the population has grown to a massive extent. So many people in fact, that the government needed to find a way to slim it down a bit. The way that they chose was called ‘Nascondino’. It is Italian for Hide and Seek. The leader who made the decision was Italian which lead to its origins. Before this event plays out, another event called ‘The Betting’ will occur. ‘The Betting’ is where rich men and women from around the world choose anyone from over the age of 18 from any country or town, to bet on. Once the bet is made, that selected person that has been bet on will be entered into the game of Hide and Seek. This game is not as happy as you think it is, however. It is a very dangerous game that requires skill and athleticism. 100 contestants will be betted on and selected. The others will consider themselves lucky. This same ceremony will occur again next year. Out of the 100 citizens that were selected, only 1 will live. All contestants must hide from the seeker. The seeker will be a monstrous being that will kill anything that moves. The players must hide to win. Eventually, the winner will receive a great prize and will go back home alive. They will no longer have to participate in the game for the rest of their life.
