junior year of high school was finally over with. eddie kaspbrak couldn't wait for summer and to hang out with his best friends, mike hanlon, ben hanscom and bill denbrough. they've all been best friends since the third grade, and they loved each other like family. summer gave eddie the opportunity to get out of the house and away from his overbearing mother. his friends knew how bad his mother could be, so they always came up with things to do and new places to go to get eddie out of the house.
as soon as the final bell rang indicating that school was done for the year, bill, ben, and mike approached eddie at his locker.
"hey eddie!" ben exclaimed.
eddie turned around from emptying his locker to see his three best friends around him. he immediately smiled and replied, "hey guys!"
"since school is now over, what do you guys want to do to kick off summer?" mike eagerly asked the group of friends.
"oh! i have so many ideas. we can go to the quarry or go get ice cream. ooh! or maybe we can go ride our bikes around town and afterwards go out to eat," eddie rambled on. he was so excited about summer and had lots of plans for him and his friends.
"eddie, we always do those things. we want to do something new," mike replied. mike's reply to his ideas made eddie somewhat sad. eddie knew that they always do those things, but he really enjoyed doing them, especially with his friends.
"oh. then what were you guys thinking?" eddie asked.
"that arcade in town opened up a few months ago and we still haven't checked it out. maybe we could go there," bill suggested to the friend group.
eddie shuddered. one thing to know about eddie kaspbrak is that he does not like germs. ever since he was little, his mother embedded into his mind that germs will kill him and that he has to be cautious in public places. and an arcade was a public and not a very clean place to go.
"uhh, yeah, but isn't that place kind of dirty?" eddie asked anxiously. he didn't want his friends thinking he didn't want to go, because he did, he was just scared of getting sick.
"eddie, c'mon, it only opened a few months ago, it's practically brand new. i bet it's clean, so you don't need to worry about getting sick," ben replied reassuringly to eddie.
eddie was hesitant, but he wanted to hang out with his best friends, and it was the first day of summer. maybe he can beat ben in a game of mrs. pacman and get to gloat the rest of the day.
"okay, i'm in," eddie said with a small smile.
"hell yeah! this is gonna be fun," insisted mike.
eddie closed his locker and walked out the front doors of the school with his three best friends by his side. they all piled into
the boys were excited to start the summer off with something new to do. eddie was thrilled that he didn't have to go home and could get away from his mother. none of them knew what this summer would hold for them, but they were excited to find out.
sorry this is short i'm not sure how to establish the story just yet. i know what i want to do with it and where to go i just need to u know.. introduce shit. :*
