Underswap

The snow has stopped falling, the air crisp with frost. Grass and snowdrops pushed their way through the snow, flowering and growing. Their leaves kissed with white and icy water which dripped from their ends.

The pine and fur trees swayed softly, snow occasionally falling down in clumps from their branches.

He stared at Snowdin, his eyes glowing softly as he let out a cloud of hot smoke.
It was cold. At least he thought it was. Or maybe it was just his soul...?

He trudged through the snow, glancing around emotionlessly.

It was so quiet.

Of course it was.

The snow was covered in blood and dust.

Remains of battles still clinging to the rough terrain, soon to dust away like everything else.

Everyone else.

Some people had survived. Having fled to Hot Lands and Waterfalls and taken shelter in the labs and such. Away from the looming threat who now walked through the small town like it was a normal day.

Other hadn't been too lucky. Fighting until they dusted and bled to death. Horrible, painful and brutal. Their souls smashed like class and shattering against every blow they took.

He didn't know what came over him. Didn't know why he did it.

Papyrus stopped and stared at the sight with little more than a small sigh, stuffing a hand in his pocket as he crushed his cigarette in his bare hand. Watching as he dropped the ashes carelessly into the snow. No remorse at all.

Why did he have to care anyway? It wasn't like he was fighting for anything anymore.

The person he loved the most was gone. Had left him by choice and hated him.

His blazing eyes narrowed and he gritted his teeth slightly. This was getting tiring.

A small monster poked their head out of the door of a shop, looking around before running out quickly and into the path. Past the remains of their friends, the blood and dust. They were a small bear creature. His fur was brown, wearing a light red top, dark red braces and black pants. His boots crunched against the snow as he ran faster, heading in the direction of waterfalls.

But these stories can't always be happy for all characters. And it must happen.

He raced towards the entrance to waterfalls, his feet splashing in the icy cold water.

So close.

Yet so far.

Papyrus appeared in front of him, his hood pulled up, casting a shadow over his face. His eyes glowing like fire. He didn't smile nor frown. Just emotionless.

The monster screamed when Papyrus grabbed him and slammed him down into the icy water, his back slamming against the rock hidden beneath. His attacker stared down at him before summoning a long, sharp bone. The sharp end was already covered in blood and dust from his last victim and he held it above the now squirming and sobbing monster.

He held it above the chest of his victim who stared at it in trembling horror, shaking their head and sobbing out his desperate pleas.

Papyrus stared down at him before he raised the bone, letting out a sigh as he looked away. "I..."
The little monster sighed very slightly in relief, thinking he was spared.

Until the sharp weapon was plunged down into his chest, shooting through his spine and to it through. The skeleton received a blood-curdling scream and he watched as his victim started to cough up blood, his frail body beginning to dust away.

And soon.

They were gone.

Their soul was still there, the sharp end of the bone still stabbed through it.
The delicate thing trembled as cracks spread across it and then it shattered like glass, vanishing into thin air.

Papyrus let out a sigh, yanking the bone out of the rock and looking around. Surveying the area around him.

Monsters may have been watching him, but none of them dared to move or run away or try and attack him.

It would be pointless either way.

They could hide all they wanted, run as far as they could.
But in the end, they would always be found and killed by the true monster who now ruled this pitiful world.

Dust stayed close to Blue, never leaving his side through the whole night. He didn't dare let himself fall asleep, didn't even give himself a nap for the shortest time. He didn't want to miss anything. He just wanted Blue to wake up.

Alphys would come in and check on Blue every hour or so, glancing over his soul and making sure he was still healing.

It was the early morning.

And Blue winced, moving a little and shuffling around in the bed.

Dust's head snapped up and he whipped around to look at him quickly. Watching before a load of hope sparked up in his eyes. He sat up very slightly. "B-Blue..?"He spoke softly, watching carefully with a small smile.

The small skeleton winced again and his eyes fluttered slightly open, staring at the wall before slowly looking over to Dust. "M-mh..."He tried to sit up only to hiss slightly as pain darted through his body and he weakly clutched as his chest.

"H-Hey... take it easy..." Dust smiled, shuffling closer to him. "You need to get some rest... you're still healing after all."

Blue nodded and leaned back, his body exhausted after what happened.
Dust pulled him close so that the other was leaning against his side, "close your eyes Blue... Get some sleep. I'll be here, don't worry."

The other looked up at him with a light alarm and Dust chuckled softly.
"I promise. I ain't gonna leave any time soon."

A nod.
And Blue was soon fast asleep again. A lot more comfortable looking. Feeling safer.

Dust was alright. He wasn't hurt. He seemed happy and well.
And that was all that mattered to Blue at that moment.

Dr.Undyne had been able to drag the Captain of the Royal Guard back to the safety of her lab, as well as the rest of the guards who had been able to survive the gruesome attack.
She sighed shakily as she patched up the Captain, a frown on her face. Everything was done in silence, even when the Captain started to groan the Doctor hardly reacted, only continued her work on her until she was finished.

Her eyes glowed softly and she adjusted her glasses, she glanced over to the other guards who were sitting on the small benches, staring down solemnly.

She frowned and pulled off her gloves, walking to the door and leaving the room in silence but she stopped right in front of the door once she left and sighed, leaning back against the wall. She squeezed her eyes shut before she slid down, sitting against it and hugging her knees to her chest, her fins twitching.

A small whimper escaped her and her body trembled.

"Oh please... please, please... someone just stop this... stop him..."She begged to no one, sitting there all alone.

The lights flicking.

The AC rumbling and humming softly.

And a figure standing at the end of the hallway.

Watching her.

And getting ready to strike.
