A normal life.
Thats what former Catholic student Donatello thought he had wanted. Even now, he still could not believe that he had been consumed into such a life that his younger self wouldn't have even be able to imagine. Back then, going outside without being stared at wasn't even a question, but now it happens almost every time. In the past getting stared at would have made little Donatello anxious; back when he had normal functioning feelings like everyone else he was surrounded by. Now he has nearly zero cares in the world about being gazed at in rather wrong ways. He couldn't really make his own choices. Even if he desperately wanted to care, he just couldn't. most people would call Donatellos life hard, or tragic but he would call it a dream come true. He would simply say its what he wanted all his life. He couldn't be happier with his present self, but how he got here is a whole other story.
It all starts on May 17th, the day before Donatellos 16th birthday. He had woken up that morning completely ready for what the day had in store. The first thing he did every morning was check his phone, seeing if anyone new had followed him and or liked one of his many posts. He was a photographer, he had been for a few years now. His father was a professional photographer. He idolized his dads amazing pieces of art, and had decided he was going to follow in his footsteps. Someday he hoped to be as successful as the man he so luckily got to call his father.
"1 new follower" read the screen of his phone.
"Probably some random Indian man again.." scoffed Donatello
To his surprise it was someone at his school. A boy named Arthur. Donatello and the boy had a few classes together during a regular school day. He was a rather quiet young man who was very focused on his studies more than other people.
"I wonder how he found my account anyways.." He wondered.
He didn't really care in the end considering the fact that a follower is a follower and another step closer to his dream of being a famous photographer.
Once Donatello had gotten ready for school he headed down stairs to see his mom and dad sitting peacefully in the dinning room sharing a wonderful breakfast he knew his mom had made just by the wonderful smell coming from the kitchen.
"Good morning dear," said his mom.
"Look at who finally decided to come down from his room and say goodbye to his old man." stated his dad.
His mother laughed gracefully at his dads remarks. Donatello looked at his mom as if she was an angel. He got a lot of his physical features from his mom. Maybe that had been why lots of people said Donatello was fairly pretty for a boy. But there was one genetic thing that the boy had been known for, his hair. He had hair that was green on the left and black on the right. It was perfectly split down the middle. People have always found it so fascinating that somebody could possibly adopt both parents hair colors. Donatello never complained about the attention he got for it, unless it was from the teachers. Considering that the boy went to a strict catholic school were they were not allowed to have colored hair. It had to be natural and if it wasnt, you'd be forced to dye it back to its original color. The teachers constantly gave him hell for having it that way, but he would always reply with,
"It IS natural."
Donatellos mom had made extra breakfast that morning just in case her son had wanted something to eat before school. She handed him a sandwich and a hash brown.
"Here you go! and I almost forgot - do you know whos birthday it is tomorrow?" she said with an excited look painted across her soft face.
"Yes mom, its mine"
