Chapter Five

      AS STEPHEN OPENED ANOTHER SHIELD, Tony glided over, firing a blast at a near by car. The car was pushed towards Maw but he simply cut it in half with the flick of his hand, both ends slamming into the street on either side of Maw.

"Gotta get that stone outta here, now!" Tony insisted again, glancing at Stephen.

"It stays with me," Stephen shot back sternly as Elizabeth forced herself to dash forward.

Her arms thrashed up and down relentlessly, balls of her feet digging into the earth deeper with each step turning more into a bound to propel herself faster. Maw spotted her and began to use what looked to be telekinesis to pull apart the buildings. Debris rained down onto the streets, and even for Elizabeth in 'flash time' it was difficult to avoid being hit. She slid under a piece before jumping over another, ignoring the sparks that lit the streets and left embers over the edges. Her lightning scorched the roads as she avoided being hit.

Raising her fist, Elizabeth slammed it into Maw's face, rolling behind him and avoiding an from Cull. She jumped back up to see a claw type of weapon fire at Tony, sending the Iron Man flying back. He smashed into a nearby building, crashing through to the other side and bouncing across the street into Central Park.

Elizabeth cursed under her breath as she backed up, seeing both Cull and Maw glaring at her. She was positioned shorter then both of them and it brought her back to the moment Thanos snapped his fingers and destroyed her galaxy. But, she could 'ake amends by providing earth 6-1-6 the help her earth didn't have. At least she hoped this could help her consciousness.

Elizabeth ducked as Cull's claw came speeding back to its owner, bending back and barely missing her. Bouncing up, the teenager went for an uppercut when Cull grabbed her wrist, lifting her from the ground, and before Elizabeth could phase through his grip, Cull threw her back towards Wong and Stephen.

She slammed into one of the abandoned cars, glass shards spilling onto the road as the vehicle caved under her weight. Slowly, Elizabeth rolled off, landing on her feet, and glanced back to see Cull rushing the way Tony went.

"Go help them," Stephen instructed, making Elizabeth look to him. He nodded encouragingly.

Elizabeth turned back to Maw before taking off, feeling the ground rumble under her. As she sped down the street, the asphalt shook, making her cautiously look down to see pebbles and stray pieces of dirt shake. Looking back up, Elizabeth gasped as she saw her path be raised, sending her into the sky.

"What the hell!" she screamed, spinning herself so she'd land on her feet instead of her head. And she did just that, landing behind Maw and racing the way Tony went, disappearing in a flash of lightning.

Over in Central Park, Tony groaned and struggled in the ditch his body made. Bruce quickly ran over to him. "Tony, you okay? How we doing? Good? Bad?"

"Really, really good. Really good. Do you plan of helping out?" Tony started sarcastic before turning serious, blue rectangle 'eyes' turning to look directly at Bruce.

"I'm trying. He won't come out."

Tony exhaled exasperatedly through his nose before seeing Cull burst through the building he just broke through. "Hammer!" he yelled in a warning, pushing up and shoving Bruce out of the way along with himself. Once Bruce was safe, Tony zoomed back up, sending a burning blast towards Cull, but the alien held a shield up defensively. The blast bounced off, burning through a tree instead. Bruce yelped in surprise, crawling back to only receive a light pair of branches and trees on his back.
