ext. forest - day
AGATHE and ADONIS walk through the forest, together. ADONIS is looking through AGATHE'snotebook. AGATHE is drinking some water.
ADONIS
You know I am a good architect too?
AGATHE
Really, now?
ADONIS
Yes ma'am, I designed and built my own house for my other runaways.
AGATHE
Runaways?
AGATHE offers ADONIS some water, ADONIS doesn't take it.
ADONIS
Our parents weren't the nicest people. So, me, my brother and sister ran away to this haven, just outside of Athens.
AGATHE
Why here?
ADONIS
Well not only is it stunning to wake up each morning and see this.
ADONIS motions to the luscious forest.
ADONIS(CONT'D)
It has lots of water and food available, and we also felt like we could get the gods attention in Athens.
AGATHE
I don't think stealing things from them will garner the type of attention you seek.
ADONIS
I steal to build shelter for my family.
He says this with a bit of attitude in his voice, disrespected.
ADONIS(CONT'D)
But if the gods want to notice it, I will certainly take the limelight.
AGATHE
I'm sure the gods still won't justify that.
ADONIS
I don't know if you slept on a ground before, but it is not a forgiving bed.
AGATHE
Well, when may I see this house?
ADONIS looks up from the designs and smiles giddily.
ADONIS
I could take you there if you want? Maybe you can give me some pointers! Can I take you? PLEASE!
AGATHE
It's near Athens?
ADONIS
Yes ma'am, it is very close! About a mile away from it, actually.
AGATHE starts walking. ADONIS frowns. She stops and turns around.
AGATHE
Well come on! It's getting dark.
