Chapter Nine: Getting Away

DRACO'S POV

My fists clenched; seeing Luna like that made my insides turn. How can he treat people like this? Luna didn't do anything to deserve this!

"Let's see if its Potter shall we?" he looked down at Luna and she shrunk lower; not looking up at anyone. It broke my heart seeing her like this; if only I could've done something.

I watched as he basically dragged Luna across the floor before they made it to Potter; Voldemort leaned forward and grabbed Potter's chin moving it from side to side.

"It's nice to see you Harry Potter" Voldemort whispered; smirking towards scarhead. It was short lived though because suddenly there was a loud clang! We all turned and saw one of the snatchers playing with a sword. It looked like it came out of Grangers bag.

"What's that?" Voldemort asked; the snatcher didn't answer. Then, turning the corner was Bellatrix; she seemed to be humming a song that I wasn't familiar with. But, she too stopped once she saw the sword.

"How did you get that?" she asked quietly; when Bellatrix is quiet that's when you run.

"Found it in this girls bag; I recon it's mine now" Bellatrix screamed and took out her wand; killing all four snatchers before they could even begin thinking of avoiding it.

She walked over to the sword and picked it up; stepping closer to Granger.

"Take the boys down to the cellar; I want to have some heart-to-heart talk with this Mudblood" I looked at Voldemort but he didn't say anything; then he looked at father and told him to take them downstairs.

I would've thought he would've wanted to fight Potter right away? I watched them leave but they were looking at me the whole time; I couldn't protect Granger if that's what they're thinking.

"Now tell me how you got your hands on the sword of Gryffindor?" Granger looked up at her in fear and shook her head,

"I swear I don't know-" Bellatrix shoved her to the ground and cursed her,

"Crutico!" Granger let out a loud scream; I even had to cover my ears. I looked over at Luna who was forced to watch this as well; I could see tears welling up. All I wanted to do was run over to her, take her in my arms and tell her that everything was going to be fine. I didn't like that she had to watch; I didn't even want to watch. The screams were already haunting enough; I can only imagine what Potter and Weasley think right now.

"Tell me! How did you manage to steal the sword of Gryffindor from my vault?!" Granger was crying so she couldn't reply; I looked away when she was cursed again.

"PLEASE STOP" she screamed; in hysterics now. Luna was shaking now; she had her hands up to her eyes and was looking away as well.

"Don't do that Ms. Lovegood you're going to miss all the fun" Voldemort grabbed Luna's head and forced her to look at the scene once more; now she couldn't hold back her tears.

"Stop! My Lord you said you would let her go if I got Potter here" Voldemort looked at me and smirked,

"Things change Draco" he pat Luna on the head and she shrunk back; trying to avoid his hand.
