Calum shook his head when he felt his eyes grow tired of his constant staring at nothing, rubbing his palms against his face as he sighed. His eyes nearly throbbed in pain from him keeping them open for so long, focusing and unfocusing as he stared. Harry was preoccupied by his phone, China on hers as well.
He was listening to her rant on the line as they waited for the rest of her gang to show up. His knee was jumping as he leaned forward onto his elbows. He couldn't help it, the nervous cue he had among the many he learned to control. This wasn't his first meet up of gangs coming for kingpin title. He'd been to more than enough with Ashton, though most of them ended in having to watch a desperately drugged out teen and hearing the way Ashton reminded that without him, he'd be nothing more than another sob story on the street.
He shook his head, trying to find something else to focus on as he cracked his knuckles and rolled his neck. He spun the ring around his finger, pulling his lip between his teeth as he stared out his window. The moon was staring down at him and it was odd to see it through a car window rather than his bedroom window, watching it hang in the deep blue sky with stars twinkling around it like a million tiny freckles.
Clouds puffed out at random, almost see through except for a very soft outlining of white just as a whisper and a light touch to the eyes. They floated past slowly, barely dragging across the sky with the cold wind that pushed through the crack of the window as he stared through the clean, bulletproof glass of the car. Rolling his shoulders back, he followed Harry out of the car beside China, fixing his ring back into place around his chain.
He held the door for China to walk in, going in behind Harry to keep watch over the younger two as they walked into the building. He crossed his arms as he stood behind China, Harry sitting beside her on the couch. He eyed Ashton across from them, clenching his jaw as he watched Ashton smirk at him. His eyes drifted over to Michael, wondering if he would be dragged to some dark, disgusting alley and stare at another poor, strung out boy.
His face was littered with small bruises, a few deep cuts that Calum knew well to be Ashton's rings that still adorned his fingers like a trophy to show off to all who really knew why he wore the small power trips made disguised as rings. The male was looking at his hands placed in front of him and Calum just knew that he used to look as small and weak as Michael did nowadays.
The feeling wasn't as strong and persistent as it used to be but there was still a faint tickling of wanting to replace himself with Michael and give the salvation away that he just got his hands on. He knew he could ignore it on his own because if Ashton didn't take his life, he would take his own if given the opportunity.
His attention came back when heard the rotating click of a barrel, dark brown eyes darting over to the male standing in corner as China and Ashton talked about territory. He focused, tuning out his surroundings as he glanced around carefully. Four men, not including Ashton, who no doubt had his pistol; Beretta 92.
