"Do you have any other suspects Paisley?", "yes there's a main one, Dylan's ex girlfriend, Kory Penson".
"she's the obvious choice isn't she", "not exactly the story all begins the second day of the Spring brothers being here".
I had come home from school that day, driven by Kelly. When we walked through the door we were immediately hit with the smell of brownies.
"Kiddos, welcome back from school" our mom beamed. "What's the occasion?" Kelly asked, "oh didn't you hear you kids have new neighbors", both Kelly and I were in total shock.
"Who are they?" I asked, "oh I met the lady earlier she's sweet her name's Natalie and guess what she has two sons the same age as the two of you", our mom went on about how amazing the neighbors were and that she wants us to greet them.
"You think it's them?" Kelly asked. "Yeah it's obviously them, I'm not going" I say. "You have to or else mom will yell at you" Kelly argues but I didn't feel like going and Dylan had already told me to stay away.
I ended up going anyway, they had moved in the Tauners' old house. Kelly rang the doorbell, and was greeted by Dylan.
"Hey, Kelly was it?" He answered, she grinned "yes, can we come in we have brownies". "Of course, anything for brownies" he laughed leaving the doorway open for us to pass, he didn't say hi to me and I knew he would so I didn't question it.
Alex was on the couch with a girl, Kory, from my home room class. "Oh hi Kelly" Alex jumped up, Kelly blushed "hey", what losers.
"I didn't forget you Pay-Pay" he smiled, I laughed he said it so girlishly like how my sister does it.
"Paisley?" Kory said shocked, "you guys know eachother" she asked looking at Alex. "Yeah we met today" he grinned innocently. Alex must be really innocent I thought to myself.
"So Paisley What brings you here?" Kory asks blatantly as always, her black choker and nose ring gave her quite the aura that you should be afraid of her but I wasn't, Kory has always been 'that goth girl' in class.
"Mom asked me to bring brownies to the neighbors" I said nudging my head towards Alex. "How cute, and of course Dylan too" she said as Dylan walked up to her.
"Of course babe" he says brushing a strand of hair from her face before kissing her. I rolled my eyes, "well that's my cue to leave, if you need me I'd be outside barfing" I say before getting up. Alex laughs, "I'll come with you".
We went outside and stood on the porch. "You don't peg me for the emo girl" he laughs, "I'm not emo I'm just not a romantic " I reply. "Never had a boyfriend?" He asks raising his eyebrow and I shake my head, he smiled "lucky you"
"Do you have a girlfriend?" I ask, "nope not right now, Kory is my ex girlfriend though" he replies, my eyes widen she's two years younger than you is my first thought then isn't she dating your younger brother now. "That's messed up" I say and he laughs "yeah".
"It was two years ago when we met at the mall, I was 15 and she was 13, she was kinda like the female version of my brother which didn't sit well with me but eventually she asked me to be her boyfriend and I said yes and we dated for a while until she told me she wanted me to turn goth for her, I don't know it wasn't my thing and she broke up with me. A few days after she started dating Dylan and well I kinda saw it coming..." he sighed at the end and it was the first time I saw him look inflicted with any sort of pain. "Well Kory had her chance, maybe you could change targets" I say nodding my head towards my sister through the window.
"Kelly is really nice and I really like her but do you think she likes me?" He asks obliviously, I laugh "undoubtedly.
"Hi sweetie, I'm Alex and Dylan's mom you can call me Mrs. Spring" a pretty tall woman chimed opening the door. "Hi Mrs. Spring my name's Paisley I'm your neighbor" "I know hun, can you and Alex help me in the kitchen I want you all to stay and share the brownies together, and I already told Kelly to tell your mom thanks".
We went in the house and shared up the brownies, Dylan fed Kory the brownies like weird couples do and Kelly and Alex talked as I zoned out.
"Such a grim day don't ya think, perfect for a funeral" Kory smirked. "Um, I suppose" Kelly said very uncomfortable. "Hmm, Paisley doesn't it remind you of Mcgreggor's funeral" Kory said after a brief silence. "Can you not" I said with distaste. Kory loved a good horror story and they were about to get one.
