Mira POV

Just when I was sure I had gotten away from Gwaine I bumped into another person. "Ouch, oh I'm sorry!" I tried to stand up but fell again "I think I hurt my foot." I mumbled to myself. Merlin reached down and offered his hand. I grabbed his hand and stood up wobbling. I winced but stood on my own anyway. "Are you alright?" He asked I nodded "I'm fine, thank you Merlin. Do you happen to know where Gaius is?" I changed the subject. "Yes I do! Infact I was just on my way there I can show you the way if you want." I nodded I stepped on my foot and winced again. "Ah Merlin do you think you could help me get there? My foot aches from running around." I fibbed, he nodded. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and he put his around mine. I leaned on him for support, as we did this I felt my face turn beat red. "MERLIN!" I heard Author calling for his servant from down the hall. "Quickly Merlin unless you want to get caught!" We quickly shuffled down the hall and towards a small door. When we entered, I saw glass bottles, books, and papers everywhere. And there at a desk was Gaius reading in a book. "Merlin can you close the door, were you raised in a barn?" He asked not looking up from his book. "Sorry I was carrying an injured wolf girl." He teased, as he set me on a bed. Gaius's head shot up from his book. "Mira's hurt! She's here? Why? What did you do Merlin?" "Gaius I'm fine, I think I just twisted an ankle while running. And yes I'm here, I'm going to be your apprentice. As well as train to be a knight. But given my foot it might be a few weeks before I can start." I chuckled, he came around his desk and grabbed a cream. He applied it to my foot and rapped it in a bandage. "It should be good as new in a few days." I nodded "Thank you Gaius, do you have a time that I have to be in here by?" I asked referring to my work. He shook his head. "Just rest for now, I'll give you the details later once you have healed." Smiling I thanked Gaius, "It's no problem my dear, also happy early birthday." I giggled, "Gaius it's not for another three days." He chuckled. "Yes I am aware but I don't wish to forget." I nodded in understanding. "How old are you turning?" Merlin asked as he flipped through the book Gaius had been reading before. "Ill be eighteen, and ill finally get my soulmark!" He nodded, "Hey Gaius do you have a mark? What does it look like?" He laughed, "Indeed I do Mira, but my soulmate left long ago." I tilted my head confused. "Her name was Alice. She had to leave when magic was band, because she was a user of magic. And she died later, before Arthur was king." I felt bad asking, "If you dont mind my asking, what does it look like?" He sighed sadly. "It's a small white dove, it is on my right shoulder." I nodded leaving the subject alone. "MERLIN!" Arthur shouted from the hall. Both Gaius and I laughed as Merlin jumped. I hobbled over to the door and opened it. "Arthur? What are you doing here?" I said playing dumb. "Im looking for my sorry excuce of a servant! Have you seen him?" I nodded, "Sorry Arthur, but I had borrowed him. I needed his help to get here, you see I was a bit tired and fell down some stairs. I asked him to help me get to Gaius. Because I haven't been here before." I lied, Arthur looked at my foot now wrapped in bandages. "You should be sitting down then." He helped me to a seat. "Thank you." I said calmly, he nodded a reply. "Merlin, lets go." Merlin nodded and they left. Merlin mouthed a 'Thanks!' as they left. "Hey Gaius?" He was mixing a container of greenish liquid. "Yes Mira?" He replied, "Does Merlin have a Soulmark?" Gaius chuckled, "Yes indeed he does, there was even a proficy that he would get a strong soulmate who would help him to complete his destiny." I looked over at him, "What does his look like?" Gaius put down the bottle. And looked at a book next to it. "Im not actually sure, I know he has one. But I'm not sure what it looks like, or where it is." I smiled, "That's okay I was just wondering. Hey what are you mixing?" I hobbled over to his desk. "Im making a cream for your injury I just used the last of what I had left." I sat down in his chair and read the book. "Says you need 2/3 a cup of that not 1/3." I pointed to the measuring cup in his hand. He looked at the cup and adjusted his glasses. "Your right, this would have been to dry without that. Thank you Mira." I smiled a reply, I always wanted to help Gaius in anyway I could. When he went to collect herbs four years ago, he met my mother and I. He was the closest thing I had to a friend, until I met Merlin and Arthur. Standing up, I hobbled over to the bed again. "Gaius? Can you get Drusilla for me when I wake from my nap?" He smiled at me, "Yes I will have her come here. Get some rest Mira." I layed down under the blanket and fell asleep.
