Noriaki Kakyoin, the second-year transferee student that was held back a grade due to being absent for 50 days. Despite that, he was extremely witty and intelligent, but felt distant towards his class. He's not particularly mean, in fact- he's labelled nice. But, there's this border between them whenever someone talks to him - he just can't relate to anyone. Well, anyone other than the third-year delinquent student; Jotaro Kujo. They both were held back a grade because of the same reason, and despite Mr. Joestar explaining to the school why, they were forced to repeat a semester. Even though they're from different years, Kujo and Kakyoin get along well, they're always seen with eachother before/during/after class. And, well- there's three types of girls in their school. The ones who think Jotaro is attractive, and the ones who think Noriaki is handsome - aaaand then the ones who think both are hot. Kakyoin never thought himself to be the person who was attractive, constantly thinking that people fear him in some way and thus one of the reasons why he distances himself. But, with Jotaro around- he felt like he could be himself around him. He could crack the stupidest jokes, play around with his stand and all sorts of stuff with the third-year being accepting of everything he did. He liked being around Kujo. He felt at home whenever he saw him around. Though, that at-home feeling didn't last so long. After a week or so, his mind was flooded with the dark-haired boy that he considered his best friend. Every single thought was flooding with anything related to Jotaro, to the point he couldn't focus and study. And when he sees him, his heart starts racing making him want to avoid him because he doesn't want to feel that way. Eventually, these thoughts started becoming negative. In his own class, he overheard a conversation between two girls and about how they fantasize to be with Jotaro. His mind conjures up a scenario where Jotaro is with someone else, and it made him want to rip his heart out. He didn't know why he was like this. His head was spinning and he can't find a clear answer to why he feels this way.
His sketchbook, being filled with paintings of his so-called-best friend, and his thoughts revolving around him. Is this what having a crush felt like? He wondered. He started to avoid Jotaro in hopes of this feeling going away, but it never did. It grew more intense as he avoided him, making his heart pound whenever he saw him look at him.
"..Kakyoin?" Jotaro taps him on shoulder as he was grabbing his outdoor shoes from the locker, turned away from him and he was so shocked that he summoned Hierophant by instinct, with Hierophant's tentacles luring Jotaro closer to him. "Shit! Sorry!" Kakyoin turned around immediately, grabbing his shoes from the locker and made a run for it, shoving Jotaro out of the way and Hierophant just took care of the indoor shoes. Before he knew it, Jotaro was already caught up to him because of his timestop ability, grabbing him by the hand. "Stop running away from me, you aren't my grandfather." Jotaro let out a deep sigh, pulling Kakyoin's sleeve.
Kakyoin's heart felt it was going to explode. He thought he was going to faint or something from the adrenaline rush combined with the feelings he had for Jotaro, but he was just a mess instead. Jotaro looked down on him, noticing the other looked so embarassed and petrified. "..Hey, are you okay?" Jotaro let go of his sleeve.
"I'm ffine!" He laughed it off awkwardly, coughing along the fake laugh- avoiding eye contact. "..Alright then." Jotaro let out a small yawn, keeping his gaze directed at Kakyoin. They walked home with a awkward atmosphere seperating them, silence and tension between the two.
"So, are you avoiding me?" Jotaro straight up asked him, saying those exact words and it hit Kakyoin in the gut. sorrynotsorry
"No, I-" Kakyoin looked down at the ground, as they pass by a route through a garden noticing he had stepped on a flower. "..I'm not doing it on purpose.." Kakyoin finally looked back up at Jotaro to see him light up a cigarette, but then immediately looked back down.
"What do you mean by that?" Muffled by the cancer stick, (seriously Jotaro stop smoking itll destroy your lungs) he looked at Kakyoin's cherry red hair that looked so soft and thinking of his fingers rummaging through them.
"..It's just that.. I think I really-" Kakyoin stopped walking, looking at where he stopped at - the grass was beautiful and both of them were standing beneath a cherry tree.
Finally, Kakyoin looked at him straight in the eye, gazing into the other boy's ocean blue irises, choking on his words as he struggles to form them and the subconcious ticking of a clock played in his head - his heart pounding as the cherry blossom tree leaves blew in the wind. He stumbles on his own sentence, only being able to say "I really admire you". He wanted to say so much more, but was cut off by Jotaro's smirk. Kakyoin's face heated up and his cheeks as red as his hair, covering his face and mouth to prevent himself from saying anything stupid.
"..Good grief.. You made me overthink." Jotaro took the cig out of his mouth, putting it out on the grass as the wind lifts his hat's visor up a tad bit. He smiled wholeheartedly, asking one more question.
"Do you love me, Kakyoin?"
Kakyoin froze in place, a mess as he's pretty sure his heart just skipped a beat. Jotaro's voice along with that line made him a wreck. "Of course I do." Kakyoin chuckled with two tears rolling down his face that were not caused by sadness, but caused by happiness. He was glad to finally release this pent-up love he had for the one and only Kujo Jotaro.
"Really? You love me?" Jotaro reached out to his face, wiping off the tears from his eyes. "Don't cry, dumbass." Jotaro laughed, relieved that Kakyoin felt the same as he did. "Kakyoin, do you mind if I showed you how much I loved you back?"
"I don't mind at all." Kakyoin wanted to say that he wanted Jotaro to show him all of his love, but was then cut off by Jotaro leaning forward to him - his lips meet Kakyoin's as Jotaro gives him a tender smooch and Jotaro pulled himself away slowly after a few seconds had passed. Their saliva on their lips greatly contrasting eachother, with the dark-haired boy's tasting bitter and like ash that clashed with his that was as sweet as fruit.
"..I love you a lot, Kakyoin."
