A year later

Tanaka point of view *

"Hey, Tanaka wanna go get sushi?" I packed my knee pads and ran off with Nyshinoya and Hinata  " how you feeling" I raised an eyebrow "what do you mean fellow short person" he gave me a pissed off look and I laughed as a sign to show that I was kidding "I'm fine I mean who what of thought that a year could pass so slow yet so fast" I quickly put on a smile and "Okay can we pick up the pace I'm starving!" I say eagerly to change the subject.

"What are we choosing today?!" I say excitement, we order and we go sit down..........

On my way home I passed by (Y/N) house hoping I could see if she has gotten home or not "who am I kidding. she probably found herself an American boyfriend" I thought to myself while walking away "Tanaka?" I hear a sweet voice "god please let it be (y/n) please" I turn around so quickly I almost do a full spin.

(y/n) point of view *

I walked out to try and maybe walk to Tanaka's house when all of a sudden from across the street I see a bulky figure, I squint to see what the jacket said when I read "kurasuno!" I exclaimed to myself "Tanaka?" I question before running to him "(Y/n) YOUR BACK, OMG YOUR BACK" I ran to his arms so fast that we almost fell over. "you wanna walk?" I ask getting off of him "sure" the silence was one of the worst silence ever "hehe so how are you? how was America?" I looked up "good I actually made a friend, and honestly, I think I like Japan better" I whisper at my last statement as if someone was listening to our conversation. "You? I mean how have you been? hows the team? has Nyshinoya and Hinata gotten taller since I left" I laughed "umm well no both of them are still as short as ever, But we've been doing good we went to championships and won hehe, and as for me welp I've been good.. the same routine as ever"? My heart sank 'i missed Tanaka play the championships' my head kept repeating it over and over, then an unexpected question slipped out of Tanaka's mouth "Did you find a boyfriend in America, because if you did its fine cause I mean we weren't together so I mean but I just want to know the cause so then I can just be-" I placed my lips on his and as I backed aways "I hope that answers you question" I smile now walking backward. " huh I didn't know you could be so bold " he said looking at me and the more I thought about it the more my face like it was burning.

we stop by a park and sit on the swings like when we were together "(Y/n)" I turn to him slowing down on the swing "yeah?" I put my hand on my heart feeling it beat more rapidly by the minute " Does this mean we are you know" I smiled and intertwined my fingers with his.............

"yes, yes Tanaka I would want us to be together again"

"same I would love that too"

And at that moment the 'I love yous' that we said to each other a year ago really started to count and become words that did mean more than what an 'i love you' could describe.
