Hey I made a new story! I hope you like it. For now enjoy this short prologue. :D

I've never liked going grocery shopping with my mom. I love my mom with all my heart and I don't mean to offend her and her grocery shopping sprees but it's boring. My dad and my little brother, Alex was at home probably having a James Bond movie marathon. Without me...

Finally after an hour or two of grocery shopping we finally got into the old car we liked to call, Bob. Bob was an old white Honda Odyssey with a few scratches and bumps but could still work.

On the way home I decided to text my only best friend, Trevor about a party his older brother's hosting. Trevor is just an awkward guy who's around 6' 2, has emerald green eyes, brown hair, a cute smile, the title "Nerd #2, and glasses to fit with it.

I'm "Nerd #1" who's pretty much the same as Trevor but not 6' 2, no cute smile, and no glasses. I was called "Nerd #1" because of my grades. I have one of the most highest grades in the sophomore year. Every day people ask me to copy homework and since I am too nice, I give my homework for people to copy.

"Cass, how's Trevor surviving that party alone?" my mom asks.

"He's not handling it very well since he can't go inside his room. His brother's making out with a cheerleader," I tell her.

"Tell him I said good luck," she says.

I do and as I pressed send, a car suddenly crashes into Bob. I heard glass shatter and went unconscious. The last thing I felt was something sharp impale my throat.

-------------A Few Weeks Later-----------

I wake up in a really white room and heard beeping noises. I assumed that I was at the hospital. My dad was in the hallway outside the hospital room I was in talking to a doctor.

"Hey, you're awake sis!" I hear Alex cheerfully say.

I tried talking back to him but I can't... What's going on?

"I'm going to call dad," he tells me as he rushes outside to tell dad that I was awake.

I started panicking and put my hand to my throat. I felt stitches. Maybe it was that pain I felt. Dad walks inside and kisses me on the forehead.

"Thank God you're awake," he says happily then became sad. "I see you have noticed you can't talk. Well I'll have to explain that later. You've been unconscious for three weeks now and your mom's been awake since last week. But I have bad news... She lost her left leg and she needs to learn how to use a fake leg. But for now while she's recovering she'll be in a wheelchair. Also Trevor visited you and your mom a few times. He was worried about you guys."

I wanted to ask him if she was okay and why I couldn't talk. Dad gives me a whiteboard and a blue Expo marker. "I want you to use this from now on... You're mute..." Dad says. My eyes widen and felt my eyes water as I began silently sobbing as my dad comforts me and Alex looking at me with a sad face.

An hour later I started writing down, how did I get mute? Dad says, "According to the doctor a large shard of glass impaled your throat and destroyed your ability to speak... But luckily they saved you in time." I knew it.

Next I write, how did we get here? "After the car crashed, your mother was still awake in pain and called 911," Dad says. I write down, Okay.

I guess I'll have to survive being mute...
