Finding the hunt

It was the first of October, the year 2020, Sam and Dean both knew what that meant. When October rolled around more monsters were out attacking people as it was a busy time, everything was off the charts as it was the spookiest time of year, or at least that's what they expected. Sam was wearing his old blue jeans, black combat boots, green and white plaid shirt, and his dark green jacket. Sam was in the bunker map room his laptop open wide as he fished through loads of articles of strange deaths, missing persons, and more.

Each one he found in the state of Kansas looked like it was a case for the supernatural but most of them he had to shrug off as things that aren't worth time at the moment and other hunters were on the case already. Dean was wearing his typical old blue jeans, dark brown combat boots, a black shirt, with an unbuttoned plaid shirt over that and then his navy blue button-up jacket.

Dean was in the kitchen bent over in the fridge getting a couple of beers, he walked into the map room seeing his brother scrolling through articles, "Did you find anything yet?" Dean asked as he handed Sam a beer. Sam popped his beer open, Dean popped his open as well and both of them taking a drink, "Dean, it's October there are so many possible cases I don't know what to look at" He scoffed as he set the beer bottle on the table. '

Dean pulled out one of the chairs and sat down beside his brother and shook his head, "I'm sure if you keep looking you'll find something soon, just gotta dig a little deeper," Dean said as he set his feet up on the table crossing one over the other and leaned back in the chair waiting.

As Sam scrolled through the articles in other states online he found cases with people who were killed in a non-supernatural way. Some were missing people cases, but it wasn't monster activity as nothing was reported. A handful of cases he did see but heard from Charlie that other hunters were on the case. It just didn't match up to the expectations of a good hunt, which was odd as it was October, there should be more than what was accounted for. Sam sighed and looked at Dean, Dean was throwing a ball that he found laying around in the air and catching it humming the tune of Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" As he waited for Sam to find a good case for them. Sam smacked the table getting Dean's attention as Dean jumped a little and sat up, "So get this, there are a ton of cases in the state of Kansas and Colorado that I looked at. Some hunters have taken the cases, or they aren't a case at all." Sam said as he folded his arms as he leaned back in his chair.

Dean put the ball on the table and furrowed his eyebrows "Well, we need to keep looking there has to be a case somewhere. Broaden the search across a few more states, if you have to," Dean said in an annoyed tone. Sam scratched his temple with his index finger and sighed, "Well, I'll keep looking there has to be one somewhere, I mean, it's October. The month of a lot of supernatural activity," Sam replied as he leaned back on the table resting his elbow on the table staring at his screen.

Sam looked at nationwide article cases, his eyebrows raised as he scrolled to St. Louis Missouri. A house there was formally owned by an elderly woman in the 1800's. The woman's name was Eleanor Wisecoffe she died at the age of 98 inside the home. Sam noticed the house was also linked to a group of disappearances, as it is now abandoned teenagers who liked to go explore it for fun. Every week of October since she passed away, groups of people have disappeared without a trace as if they left the city or state in and of itself. Local sheriffs think it's just runaways and hasn't explored past that.

Sam looked at his brother Dean who was back to throwing the ball in the air, "Dean, I think I got something," Sam said. Dean looked at Sam and the rubber ball hit Dean in the head as it came down. He rubbed his head, "See, I told you, what did you find?" He asked his younger brother. Sam sat up and cleared his throat, "So, get this, a woman Eleanor Wisecoffe passed away in her house at 98. The house is still standing, and groups of people have been going to it and gone missing each week of October. Now, I think it's a ghost, but there has to be more to this as bodies haven't been found, and none of the local sheriffs can locate the groups. The latest group was a married couple Diane and Phillip Collins" Sam explained as he shut his laptop.

Dean raised his eyes and shrugged "Alright, I guess it wouldn't hurt to check it out" He said as he got out of his chair and pushed it in. Sam stood up and put his laptop in his duffle bag as it was on the map table beside him, he put it over his shoulder. They both finished their beers and threw them away in the kitchen before heading up the bunker staircase, Dean grabbed the keys to baby, and they headed out the door. Dean opened the Impalas trunk, and Sam put his duffle bag in it next to the other weapons that were already loaded inside.
