It's the start of a new school year, and thank god it's my last, it seems like time is flying way too slow, I'm a senior now, which means after this year, I get to leave this godforsaken town of townsville.
I mean, what kind of stupid name is Townsville anyway, we have Townsville high school, Townsville middle school, Townsville elementary, Townsville Mini mart, Townsville Covered bridge. When they named this town, they must of gotten bored or ran out of names to call our town. Our town is actually pretty big, and just about everybody knows everybody here. That's just how it is.
I look out my bedroom to the street below. I live in the gated part of town, it's mostly quiet and beautiful but the neighbors are very friendly, only a few of my classmates live here. I see Cat, a girl in my grade emerge from her house. She has this bright blue hair and blue eyes to match, she's a cheerleader so she's always super perky and of course has the bitchy attitude to go along with it. I wouldn't call her a friend, but you definitely don't want her as an enemy. I wouldn't be able to stand her blue obsession. Her hair, most of her wardrobe, the blue bug she drives, even her cheerleading uniform is blue and gold. She leaves early so when I see her leave I know I have at least 15 minutes before I need to leave. Right on time shortly after Mindy. Another girl from my grade barrels down the street on her skateboard. She has longer black hair and these bright green eyes. She doesn't talk much, or even talks at all. She waits for Cat to leave before she comes out of her house, mostly because the cheerleaders push her around. You would think after Mindy broke one of the Cheerleaders nose they would've left her alone. But she couldn't cheer that week so they push her around even worse now.
She looks directly up at my window and I give her the 'what the fuck are you looking at' face. She flips me off and continues riding, as I fake gasp and pretend to feel offended. Nobody at Townsville High offends me, I am the shit at our school. Class president, most likely to succeed, and most definitely Valedictorian. Once we graduate I won't be in this stupid town anymore. Harvard, Standford, Yale, any Ivy League really, I'll be off to bigger and better things other like most of these losers.I go over to my mirror and stick my signature pink bow in my hair. I found it in a box of my moms stuff and it's one of the only things that I have of hers, plus pink is my signature color. I'm 17 now, and it's for little girls, but its the only way of me remembering my mom before her and my dad went missing. I was only 10 years old, they don't really know what happened. All they know was they went out of town for a camping trip and never came back, they're cars and stuff were found but they werent anywhere to be found.
I pick up my pink book-bag and run downstairs, "Bye Uncle Jerry," I say. He took me in when my parents went missing, but all he does is sit and watch T.V, which means I get away with pretty much everything. I get into my pink Mercedes and turn on the radio. I flip my visor down to check my makeup one last time, the pink really brings out my blue eyes. I blast my music all the way to school. When I pull into the parking lot everybody is in their little groups outside. I pull into the senior lot, and pull in the spot reserved for me, as the class president.
I feel everyone staring at me as I make my way to the building, which is usually normal. I'm flaunting my short pink shirt and My white belly shirt. "One more year," I tell myself as I enter. As I go in I see all the same people that I've always seen, nobody ever is new to townsville, and nobody ever leaves. It's really kind of quiet here, nothing really ever goes wrong. They call it one of the most safest towns in the area.
I make my way to my locker, I kept all my old stuff in it that way this year I could just request the same one or at least buy it from the student that got it this year. I see a short blonde freshman trying to crack the combo when I take the paper out of her hands and replace it with a 50 and my locker info.
"Sorry this one is taken" I say to her. She stands there for a second glancing between me and the money and I shoo her away. I crack the combo on the first try and admire the stuff I had from last year. Mostly just pictures of my parents and my friends."Jessica!" someone squeaks. I already know who it is, not even wanting to turn around, I just ignore the squeal.
"Hey," She says as she comes to my locker, hugging me. It's Penelope. Penelope has this puffy curly orange hair and Hazel eyes and looks like she's anorexic . She's kind of like my best friend just because she knows everything about me, but mostly because she's like obsessed with me and always up my ass. I don't wanna be mean, so i just leave it alone. Besides, shes also rich likeme and she always has the coolest parties. Nobody really likes her but they tolerate her because they want to be invited. Some people actually kiss her and give her things and compliment her just so their names cross her mind and get invited. It's actually really pathetic.
So yet I'm stuck with her. I can deal with the snobby and the stuck up and her kissing my ass, but the one thing I can't stand about her is her lack of style. Her parents probably spend thousands of dollars on her wardrobe and jewelry but really she dresses like she's playing dress up. She's a daddy's little what's the word?Princess.
