"RUN! RUN FASTER!"

The paled girl ran through the canopied forest, repeating the mantra over and over in her head, her feet barely feeling the ground. Pure adrenaline coursing through her body...She had to run, she HAD to escape the wretched, distasteful place she has lived in for years. One would call it a "home", but that would not be the word she would use to describe it. Though each step she took through the leaves and twigs, pain pulsed in her arms and legs. The pain of her bruised, tattered torso and limbs were permanent reminders of the Hell she has endured. "No more, though." The female thought frantically, stopping for just a second to get her bearings as she came to a problem...two roads leading different directions, one flourished with woodland creatures as well as beautiful flowers and trees. The other was man-made, most likely leading to the bastard city. She inhaled a deep breath, tasting the aroma that filled her senses... then her bones moved on it's own, reaching the wooded area that held an energy she was unaware of. The girl hid in the bushes once yelling was heard, she laid low with her eyes staring in the direction like prey caught in a web. She held her breath to keep herself steady. "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?" She heard her mother's shrill shriek as panic made the blood in her veins freeze and root her to place. She fought back the tears as the bruises started to hurt from the mere sight of her mother, who had a torn dress from the branches and leaves tangled within her hair. She took a silent step back from her mother, preparing to run fast and far.

Her luck wasn't on her side when...'SNAP' a twig cracked beneath her foot, causing her to curse under her breath as her mother's head swiveled over to the 15-year-old girl. Her name? Well...."ALEXIS!" Her mother roared as she made her way over. Yep, Alexis was her name, Alexis Moon. A teenage girl on the run from her parents who had an abusive...relationship towards her. She refused to be caged like a bird with clipped wings, not again. She booked it to the woods, her blood pounding in her ears which caused her mother's screeches to fade to nothing as her movement's became a blur as she ran...and kept running. She slowed to a stop, panting heavily as she tried to calm her burning lungs. A bright light shined close to her, causing her to wince at the sight of such power. Her energy mixing with this light, it was surreal...she made her way towards the calling and once she stepped through she was in a different world, a different void! Alexis couldn't believe her eyes as she skimmed the beautiful meadow before her, a planet luming in the distance as stars plastered the breath-taking hues of blue and purple that covered the skies. "Wow..." She remarked before a young boy around her age stepped forth from the shadows of the trees. He was pale in comparison, and fairly tall. The male swaggered over with a smirk on his lips. "I see you finally arrived to the Vision Province, we have been expecting you."

The brunette stared up at him, confusion sparkling in her hazel orbs. "Expecting...me?" She parroted his words with disbelief but this action caused him to laugh a warm and friendly laugh. "The stars told us you would be showing up. A hero to save us from the Demon who lurks the shadows and makes even the most fearless shake in their shoes." He stated with a tone so serious that she couldn't help but chuckle nervously, scratching at her bruises in a self-conscious state. "I am no hero, nor do I know how I ended up here." She stated with sadness, her head lowering but he placed a hand on her shoulder that caused her to shiver. "You are here, meaning you are the one to help. You shall know my name soon but we should take you to the Magic Council to see what they have to say." She silently nods, the boy walking ahead of her and she followed suit as the flowers glowed beneath their feet each step they took. It was stunning..how the colors created a marvelous arrays of hues. She took in a deep breath, tearing her eyes away from the flowers to look ahead of her. The boy didn't seem so special...but what was this Magic Council he was speaking of? Some sort of Elders Meeting? On Earth we had one leader for where we lived, not many.

Eventually, Alexis saw a clearing where elderly forms wore black outfits, she eyed them with suspicion as the boy cleared his throat. "I have brought forth the one who will save us from Bartholomew, the creature of shadows and ruler of darkness. She appeared while I was making my way through a scouting mission." His voice boomed, echoing through the trees that circled the hidden area. An Elder speaks up, her attitude snarky and crude, "You brought us a mortal whom just appeared within the Meadow of Athena." She stated, giving Alexis a once-over and scoffed. "You expect such a battered girl will save us, WHAT DO YOU THI-" Her voice was silenced as raw energy coursed through the "fragile" being, frost covering each step she took in a menacing manner. "You do not disrespect such person for trying to SAVE your WORLD. You should be thankful that someone like him!" Alexis points towards the boy who brought her, shock covering his face as a smile tugs at his lips, "WOULD EVEN CONSIDER BRINGING ME HERE! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!" She shouts, anger fueling her motives as her eyes glowed with a light blue light, the brown in her hair fading to a blue to match, wind kicking up beneath her which caused her clothes to sway violently in the breeze. "IF YOUR A COUNCIL MEMBER KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND AT LEAST GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN!" Alexis's anger swirled to nothingness as her body collapsed to the ground once the energy left her. The boy rushed to her side, catching her before her limp form hit the ground. The Elder stared in astonishment before clearing her throat. "Very well, take her to the rooms for the children that still participate in school and have her rest up. Bronze and Derek will watch after her until she fully recovers." The Elder waved her hand dismissively and the pale boy nodded and took Alexis to the rooms that were for the Students at Visions High. He left her in peace on the bed as she slept soundly.

Little did she know....her world was just about to change.
