"So you're really gonna invite hin, huh?"

Kyra nearly jumped out of her skin when she spun around and saw Angeles smirking disturbingly in her doorway.

"What the fuck, Angeles?! How'd you get into my house?!"

"Oh, stop, we've known each other since we were toddlers, you think I dont know where your family keeps a spare key?"

Kyra smiled reluctantly and continued digging in her dresser for a decent shirt. "Whatever. How do you even know who he is?"

"Jose told me, duh."

Of course.

"Well, technically it wouldn't be me inviting Noah, it would be Jose."

"Noah, hm?" Angeles said slyly, "Oh I see."

"Shut up," Kyra slammed the drawer.

Angeles laughed at her blushing friend and secretly wished she'd met someone yesterday she was that head over heels over.

"Oh my god, can I even do this?" Kyra put her head in her hands,"What if he comes on Saturday, and-and... I DONT EVEN SAY A FUCKING WORD TO HIM?? WHAT WAS IT ALL FOR??"

"Oh my god, Kyra, calm down!" Angeles replied, eyes wide in alarm. She grabbed her friends shoulders and shook her until she stopped hyperventilating.

"What even is the point, he'll never like me back anyway..." Kyra sighed once she became calm. "I can't even believe I thought I had a chance.'

"But you do have a chance! In fact, this very weekend is your fucking chance. Stop putting yourself down when you haven't even given it a shot yet."

Kyra opened her mouth to reply, but Angeles quickly interrupted her  when she spotted the time on a nearby alarm clock.

"Oh my god, we're gonna be late. Get your clothes on and let's go." Angeles rolled her eyes and went to go wake up her brother, who had fallen asleep on Kyra's family couch.

------

"YOU BITCH!"

"Jesus christ, lady calm down!" Jose shrieked.

"No!" Angeles stamped her foot. "Why didn't you tell me you had the same lunch period as me? I hate sitting by myself."

"I'm sorry," Jose replied, who didn't look one bit sorry, "But I have a reputation I need to build."

"So that means you can't sit with your own sister?"

"Yes, exactly. Now please go away."

Angeles smacked him in the head and proceeded to plop herself down in a chair directly beside him.

"Is this because you want to stalk that girl?"

Jose deliberately ignored that question and asked, "Do you know if Kyra has asked her for her name yet?"

"How am I supposed to know? I barely see her."

He chewed on his baked potato irritatingly in response, clearly not happy with this new information.

"So... you really like her? Not just like, a hookup or anything-"
