CHAPTER 1 *VISERP
Run! I quickly put one foot in front of the other. Running as fast as my feet will carry me. The street is dark and I can barely see two feet in front of me. I am having hard time breathing. Forcing myself to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth, I continue to run. Faster and faster, my feet finally slow down, and I collapse. I lay in the middle of the intimidating street, no one around to help me.
I wake up in a room with one single florescent light that sends sharp pains through my eyes. I sit up and rub my eyes. I look around the room; the walls are an auburn color. I remove the blanket from my legs, just to reveal that my pants are torn and tattered at the bottom from running. Where are my shoes? I think. I stand up and walk towards the only window there is in the room. As I am approaching I lay my hand upon the frame. The clouds are very dark and bleak; it looks as if tiny droplets of water will fall at any minute. I turn towards the only door and find my shoes.
I quickly put my shoes on, and stand up. Inching closer and closer to the door like a stupid blonde in a horror film, I throw the door open. No one is to be found in the room. The room is simple a single couch and TV decorates the room. Another brown door is at the other end of the room, and I run towards it. I was running so fast I almost miss the small stairs. I look around franticly, and see a small white sign with black lettering. A droplet of water falls on my face just below my eye. I look up and put the hood to my jacket on and put my hands in my pockets. I walk down the street, until the writing on the sign is visible.
I see taco bell and sprint till I reach the front doors. When I open the door the warm air exhilarates my face. My hands tremble as I stick them in my pockets I pull out two dollars and twenty-three cents. I lay it down on the counter,
"Can I have something warm to drink please?" I ask.
"We have hot chocolate available." The woman at the counter tells me.
"That will work." I say. "keep the change."
I take the cup and sit at a table. The warmth of the chocolate is almost surreal. I slowly drink my hot chocolate.
The cold air plasters my face as I open the door. I see a busy highway, the street in which I came from, and an alley. I contemplate between the three, I pick the alley. With every step I take I can feel the gravel under my feet. I see the same old thing back doors garbage bins, tire swings, and trees. I hear a back door slam. I duck behind a garbage bin, and peek around it to see what is happening. There sits a boy with his face in his hands and his elbows rest upon his knees. He is just sitting there, I hear him sniffle.
He's crying, I think. I turn to crawl away when I accidentally hit the garbage bin. I watch as a pop can falls at a super slow speed.
The boy looks up, 'who's there?"
Knowing I have been caught I stand up. The boy studies me, he looks at my shirt, my jacket, works his way down to my pants, and finally he looks up towards my hair.
"Who are you?" he asks.
"I would have to ask the same thing!" I say being a smart Alec.
"You're the one in my back yard." He says.
I take a few steps back.
"Now I'm not." I say smiling.
The boy looks at me and says,"Vladamir."
"I'm Visero," I say.
The boy sits down again and puts his face back into his hands. I move toward him.
