Adder woke in the strange bed, blankets wrapped around her body to keep her warm. She sighed heavily staring at the ceiling in the dim light. Heavy breathing from somewhere in the room caught her attention, she scanned the room looking for the source.
Her eyes finally landed on Simon, passed out peacefully on the small couch opposite the bed. He was laying on his back with one arm tucked behind his head the other resting on his abdomen. His chest gently rising and falling with each soft breath he took. Adder pulled herself up from the bed. She wrapped the blankets around herself and made her way over to Simon.
His legs hung crossed off the end of the sofa, his boots placed neatly next to him. His mask was still lifted slightly allowing his sharp jaw to still be visible. She looked over his masked face, his eyes peacefully shut as he slept. She smiled softly taking one of her blankets and gently placing it over the lieutenant. Her fingers brushed against the large scar on his side. In his sleep Simons whole body tensed. His eyebrows pulled down into a frown. Adder gently ran her finger back over the scar.
After a few moments Simon completely relaxed. His face in its deep sleep almost showed fear? Adder covered his chest with the blanket in a bid to keep the lieutenant warm before making her way out of the bedroom.
Ghost woke up with a start, his breathing heavy as he looked around the room remembering his surroundings. He calmed his breathing slightly as his eyes landed on the bed where adder should have been asleep. Except she wasn't. The bed was empty. Ghost quickly jumped up panicking the Russians had found them. No they wouldn't have left him asleep.
"Addy?" He questioned softly, he checked around the room, no she definitely wasn't in here, he slowly opened the bedroom door entering the lounge.
He found the girl sat quietly cross legged in the armchair facing the door. The slight creek the door made caused adders eyes to snap upwards from whatever thought she was in.
"How you holding up?" Ghost spoke gently polping himself down on the sofa. He lent back against the back his arm loosely draped over the back. Adder nodded softly. She didn't want to talk to anyone. For the last hour she had sat in peaceful silence thinking about what happened that day.
"Did I wake you?" She asked her voice soft and quiet in the room. Ghost turned his head towards the girl watching her, she had the blanket wrapped around her shoulders, his clothes still lose on her body.
"No" ghost spoke softly, his head dropped slightly before he took a deep sigh.
"I don't tend to sleep well at night anyway" he finished pushing himself up from the sofa, he walked over to the small kitchen trying to find anything to drink.
"We should start a club" addy chuckled, she watched from the chair as ghost found some tea bags and two old mugs. He quietly began to make tea.
"What was it like for you growing up?" Adder suddenly questioned. She watched as ghost froze. His body tended slightly at her question. He lent on the counter sighing before turning and facing the girl.
"What?" He questioned, adder could sense that he didn't often talk about his childhood just from his reaction to the question.
"What was your childhood like?" She stood walking over to the kitchen joining the taller man. He returned to his tea making , pouring the boiling water over the teabags filling the mugs.
"Normal I guess" he replied removing the tea bags.
"Your lying" adder spoke bluntly watching the lieutenant. He turned raising an eyebrow at her slightly under his mask.
"Am I?" He questioned. Adder handed him the small carton of milk nodding.
"Yeah. It's really easy to tell when your lying" she spoke as ghost handed her back the milk once he had finished with it.
