I took the notecard that Meredith gave me and looked up the link for the wedding planner.
Our wedding had to be perfect, Arizona's parents were coming but I wasn't so sure that mine were.
Her whole family is probably coming down just to see our wedding, my Dad is pretty supportive but I just don't think my Mom gets it.
I'm truly happy with where I am right now. I have my Arizona, Ava, Sofia, and Mark. What more could I ask for?
Arizona comes into the kitchen rubbing her eyes. "Why so early?"
"Early morning duties, also, I have to be at the hospital in about 30 minutes." I smile at her.
She just nods in response and prepares the coffee pot.
Her and I made small talk about everything that happened yesterday and then I get into the shower and get ready for the day.
Before I left I made sure I saw the girls and told everyone that I love them.
When I arrived at work Mark happily greeted me with coffee.
"What's got you in such a good mood?"
"Lexie wants a baby!" He whispers with so much excitement in his voice.
"Really? That's amazing! I know how much you want a baby, especially with Lexie." I was truly happy for him, my best friend.
Him and I talked some more before we made it to the lounge. I had some paperwork to fill out and he had to check up on a patient.
a few hours later
Today has gone by pretty slow but I don't want to jinx it. I had one patient come in with a fractured wrist so I let a couple of my interns take care of that.
With all this extra time on my hands I've been thinking about what Mark said. "Lexie wants a baby." Sofia would have another sibling that didn't have the same other parent. Sure she would adapt to it just fine but you never know. The only time Sofia sees Lexie is when she goes to Mark's house for the weekend.
To keep me at ease, I decided to text my fiancé.
C: How was it getting the girls up this morning?
Since Ava, Sof, and Zola all go to the same school and it was getting a little late, Meredith said it was fine to just let her sleepover and have us take Zona with all of us to school the next morning.
A: Zola seemed completely fine with it, of course it took forever for Ava to ready.
C: Sounds like my girl
Although Zola was a year older than both Ava and Sof, they got along just as nice.
Then my pager went off, I was being paged 911 to the pit.
When I got there and started to scrub in I could see Owen, Teddy, and Alex.
"What happened?" I ask.
"All we know it that two women were hit by a truck and one of them is pregnant." Owen explains.
2 ambulances came, Teddy and I ran to the first one while Alex and Owen ran to the other.
The women that we had seemed to be the pregnant one. She seemed to have gotten the worst of the hit.
"Torres! I need you over here!" Alex calls out.
Alex and I switched spots and the pregnant women was immediately sent to surgery to try to save the baby.
The other woman had an open femur fracture and needed to have surgery right away.
