Ashley Purdy; the world perceives him exactly the way he wants it to, a womanising party animal who drinks too much and only has one objective, sex. He takes chances and whenever given the opportunity, will make a wrong choice in the sake of protecting his 'party boy' reputation. Ashley is very much a people person, he has seen and done it all; and due to experience can read situations and predict what others will do before they happen, and is usually smart enough to be the first to dare someone else to do it before someone asks him. Control is his ultimate pleasure. That being said, it is easy to see why he cares so much about how everyone sees him.
His motive remains unseen by those around him, which is until Lauren becomes involved. After one insane night out Ashley is eventually forced to face the truth that he has hidden so well from everyone, that he believes his protective charade himself.
With Lauren's help, he can finally let go of his controlling nature and truly be happy.
Lauren; A masochist. She is the epitome of working hard and playing hard. She is a songwriter/guitar player and works freelancing with musicians all over the world. She has no desire to be in a band of her own or becoming a solo artist as she is far too engrossed in her world of travelling, late nights, early mornings, week long benders, and able to pack up and leave whenever a situation gets too heavy, she cant stand conflict and only wants to be around positive people and situations she can control. She finds working so close to artistic people who are, by nature very emotional and expressive, she has to be very discreet and keep secrets in order to keep her job. This is primarily how she gets her work, word of mouth, and trust from her clients. But a situation with a new client throws her morals out the window, and unable to escape
When she is contracted to work on a new album for the band Black Veil Brides, she is thrown into a world of hurt and bad decisions. In the end, she always knows what's best for everyone.
Andy Biersack; Andy is a caring, sweetly spoken extrovert able to convince anyone of anything. He is Ashley’s best friend and band mate, and the eloquent front man of Black Veil Brides. He is known for his passion for the band, however, is extremely selective about who knows his thought process when it comes to his plans for the bands future direction. He prefers to work independently, but does have a problem with procrastination when he is given too much time and works best under pressure of with competition. At this time he is more focused on spending time with his girlfriend, Juliet, than he really should.
Writing the bands 3rd album has left him complacent and having established the band already, has lost any inspiration he had in the beginning. It isn’t until the record company grows anxious with lack of progress and hires Lauren to assist the band with their new album that Andy really gets fired up to start writing and making an amazing record like he is capable of.
With Lauren helping him become the best writer he can be, he begins to spend less time around Juliet and more time with the band than he ever has, which brings to light his true feelings.
