After Alex and I walked, Beth watched Alex so I could go down to the cell. "Where is he?" I growled."he is in the third cell; we wanted her further from the door," Tyler answered. He preferred working in the cell because we barely used them, and in his words, work smarter, not harder, but I couldn't blame him.
I made my way over, looking into the cell; a small-framed female with chestnut hair wearing leggings, a sweatshirt, and a pair of chunky boots. "what is your business?" I asked, resisting the urge to slam into the bars out of rage.
She looked up, the light catching her face. She had a small face with one blue eye and another permanently scarred. "I'm here from my alpha," she stated. It sounded rehearsed.
"Who were you sent by?" I asked.
"no one you should be worried about; maybe your little love Alex, but you should be fine if you stay out of our way," she said, smiling.
Hitting the cage, I growled, "You will tell me!"
There was no reaction, "She should watch her back." With a wave of her fingers, The female disappeared in thin air.
Growling again, I looked at Tyler, who looked like he had seen a ghost, "witch."

Once Marcus went to his office, I went to our bed ',our' Cleo purred; Fuck.As soon as my head hit the pillow, my eyes closed. I slept like a baby in Marcus's bed.
..
.
Days Pass in the blink of an eye. Marcus and I were on good terms again, which I was thankful for, but it didn't calm me. My side and leg healed; it hurt like hell, but it was healed.Sitting on the porch with Marcus, I was enjoying my morning. We watched the pups play soccer as Moms stood on the sidelines, Sophia watching Avian run around. "they're cute," I commented.
Marcus smiled at me, the sun catching his eyes, making them a warm chocolate brown. I needed to get a grip; I was practically drooling over him. "I want my own someday," he stated, looking at me longingly.
I chuckled. "Yeah," the idea was a dream, but I feared I'd be in my grave before then.
We stared at each other before Marcus's phone buzzed, sliding it out of his pocket. He answered; I could hear both ends. "Hello?" He asked.
"It's Jane, sir. Alpha, we have a scent; We're following it now. I just wanted to call for more privacy," Jane said.
"thank you. Follow it till the end," Marcus said before he seemed to end the call. At the same time, he looked over at me again, sighing. "I want you involved more in my business because mine is yours, too," he said, looking at me.
The gesture made my heart warm, "Marcus."
"Please let me tell you what's happening." he grabbed my hand and held it, massaging my thumb. The simple gesture made me want more.
"O-ok," I stammered.
He gave me a wide grin before lifting my hand to brush his lips over my knuckles. After he lowers my hand, he says. "we found a female with one eye. She said I shouldn't be worried, but you should." He shook his head like it was a crazy idea. "I know it's just a threat to me." Pausing, he kissed my hand before continuing, "We found a scent that is hers. When we caught her, she disappeared. We think she could be a witch. They aren't common, but they are slowly creeping up in population. Most harmless, but like any creature, some have ill intentions; most don't do deals with anyone," he explained. Sadly, I knew who he was talking about; I had a bad encounter with one of my uncle's female friends when I was first controlling my panther, a.k.a. she pushed me, and my emotions got the best of me, slicing her eye with my claws. Cassandra, I believe her name was, seemed to hold a grudge.
