"I want you. I want us. I really mean it. I'd do anything to have you back in my life." He pleaded.
His words only brought more tears to her eyes. Part of her truly wanted them to work their problems out, but the other part argued fiercely that the mistreatment would only continue.
She was done.
Slowly, she approached him and took his hands in her own, as she stared up at him.
Her giant.
The love of her life, but also the bearer of the multitude of pain, sadness, and lies in her life. After taking a second to gather her emotions, she opened her mouth and uttered words that hit him like a brick: "I'm done."
With that, she removed her hands from his and, in addition, the ring from her left hand. Triumphantly, she placed the ring in his hands, despite his pleading eyes and verbal protests.
"I'm done." She yelled at him, her voice seemed to vibrate off the walls of the ginormous house. He flinched.
After the noise settled, all that could be heard was the clicking of her heels as she walked out of his home and his life...
