The Forest

Hey guys this is the first chapter hope you like it and I know I know it is short yadda lol

Chapter 1: The Forest

We walked through the forest, the fallen leaves crunching beneath us. This wind flowing heavily through the air as we walk deeper within the forest. Tree branches sway as the wind keeps getting stronger and stronger. I moved to the side to catch the sight of the leaves flying towards where we started, as if telling us to go back. I see a flash, it's just one of the guys taking a photo, I decide to ignore them. Why did they want to come? Nothing good comes out of this forest, I should've told them no. I had to talk to him. He was the only person I could go to right now, but while the others are around I can't do anything, I wouldn't want them finding out. If they found out about my past and what I am they would freak out. No way in hell would I tell anyone other than him (with a few exceptions of others). If they knew I was half reaper they would run for sure, no doubts, last time they ran too. They left running scared for their lives and I can't do that to myself and the people around me again.

It was like yesterday, I told my old friends Miles, Juliana and some others about everything. I thought they might've taken it well, but instead they began cracking up as if every single thing I had said was a joke. I even told them about my parents... So I decided to show them what I could do and who I had to fight they ran for their lives when I was in the middle of killing a wraith. It was trying to kill me so why shouldn't I defend myself I am a reaper after after all but they hadn't understand. They ran screaming, one of them even called me a freak. I was nice enough to check on them but they had so obviously blocked me out from their lives as if I was nothing at all but a ghost flowing in the wind off to another empty world. I couldn't put my recent friends in danger; since I'm not fully reaper for now I'm the target of all the wraiths. I need to split from the group to talk to him.

"Hey, yo guys let's take a break for now," I need to escape from their sight, think Artemis, think!

"Aww why we just got here a few minutes ago. I haven't even taken many photos!" He took a photo of me with a scowl on my face.

"Caden, it has been thirty minutes let's just take a short break. Plus I need to go do some buisness," I crossed my legs and stuck out my tongue and talked to James this time, " James, I know you'll leave me to my buisness right." I gave him a sweet smile and then a puppy dog face and he smirked.

"Sure thing just do what you need to do, hurry back, Caden over here is kind of antsy. Next thing you know, when you get back he's going to be in a tree swinging like a crazy person," he smiled and left it at that.

Next thing you know I am running to the center of the forest to meet him. He needs to complete the ritual or else people around me are going to get hurt. I am almost there one more turn and I'm there. 'Vincent I'm alone and in the heart of the forest get your lazy ass over here, hurry up'. Reapers can talk to eachother through a mind link as long as we concentrate, that's how we keep contact.
