~Alex~
Standing there, the silence was deafening; No one spoke, and we all looked uneasy. Kids getting hurt was my last straw; I was tortured, but they wouldn't be. This would end, and I would take my first opportunity to take this man down."so we all know where we stand," Marcus growled, leaning on his desk.
His Warriors nodded. "What's the next move?" I asked.
Everyone's head turned to me, and Marcus sighed. "Kill any rogue, you see. No more taking them to the Cell and no more mercy."
Stunned, I stood there, absorbing the information and how more people would die because of me. 'now it sinks in?' Cleo snapped. "Oh," I said, my gaze falling to my feet.
"Everyone out patrolling for the night. Mind-link if you catch anyone," Marcus ordered, and everyone headed out. He stared at me, almost frustrated. "Alex, I have some paperwork, rogue forms, and additions to our law."
"We have laws?" I asked.
"yes, we operate on human government, but each pack has its laws for their people," he answered, looking.....proud.
.A week passed, and it felt like time flew because it was now December.
.
Opening my eyes, the sun seemed to shine into my room, the lights so bright my vision always had to adjust before I rolled out of bed. Rubbing my eyes, clearing my vision, my legs carried me to my dresser, and on top, my sunflower....dead. The whole plant looked like someone poured something in it because yesterday it was alive, and today it is completely withered.
My nerves spiked, upsetting my stomach. Grabbing my clothes, Cleo butted in. 'Tell Marcus, ' she's crazy. 'No,' I responded, dressing in jeans and a long-sleeve shirt again, picturing a logo I didn't know. I went to the bathroom and did all my normal tasks before heading down the steps slowly, hearing growling and whimpers.
Around the corner, the deer shifter man was holding another innocent child, almost like he was holding him for ransom. "Let's talk, and no one gets hurt... this time," he said, gazing over at me.
Everyone surrounded him, including most of the warriors. "Alex, stay back," Marcus warned.
"yes, Alex, stay back," the deer shifter said tauntingly.
I wanted to rip him apart.
"what do you want?" Marcus growled.
"to relay a message," he stated, pulling out a piece of paper from his jeans pocket, "an old friend, a visit to the dead and reality you dread, kitty." A feminine shadow materialized beside him but appeared in a red cloak, concealing their face. It had to be Cassandra, the witch uncle hangs out with, but my thoughts were put aside when they vanished in thin air, dropping the kid to the floor with a Thud.
Wolves rushed to see if the kid was injured. My vision had become closed like a tunnel. I felt as if I'd pass out, but it never came, so I stood motionless until my vision cleared. "Everything is OK," Marcus stated, eyes on me. No words came out of my mouth as Marcus got closer, snaking a hand around my waist and putting his face in my hair. He took a deep inhale.
The gesture helped me. My whole body was a mess from the predicament, and I was ignoring Cleo, which was taking a toll on me. I also had no way to contact my uncle, so I was waiting for him to make the next move or for something terrible to happen to me. 'Tell him; this is getting dumb, Alex,' Cleo growled, frustrated.
"men, you're on patrol until further notice; no inch unlooked. You may head out now," he commanded, and the kitchen was bare moments later with the warriors, Beth, and Kyle leaving.
