the boy softly sighed as he entered the hospital room. His heart hanging lower than his feet, he made his way to the arm chair not to far from the bed. Tears nearly falling at the sight of Taehyung with wires running across his body, he began.
"i was so happy with you yet you seemed so far away
you seemed to erase the hardship and bring on the joy
it's as if you were a hallucination, way too perfect and ethereal in every way
i thought you would be beyond my imagination but i look back and it turns out you are beyond my imagination

a few hours earlier...
both boys ran through the side walks busy, with people minding their own business. They were celebrating the announcement of jin and namjoons engagement and couldn't be happier for the two. Shoulders touching both walked carelessly swaying their arms in sync.
they soon reached their destination. A modern looking restaurant filled with families conversing and laughing. Some people even finishing up school assignments occasionally looking anxious because of the large crowd.
all seven of them walked into the bustling place and immediately were seating because of the reservation jimin had booked earlier. They subconsciously sat in age order, taking off their coats and picking up the menu.
" hyung, what are you thinking of getting? " Jeongguk glanced up at Taehyung waiting for an answer.
the other pouted in confusion, " hmm i dunno- don't really feel like eating anything."
" are you okay? you're usually so happy around food."
" yea.. i guess i just need a breather i feel claustrophobic in here. i'll be right back."
taehyung stood up and lightly jogged towards the exit of the restaurant. Jeongguk shared a quick glance at his hyungs, all knowing what was going through the boys mind. He didn't know what exactly was going through his mind himself. He knew he was definitely whipped for taehyung, it's just a matter of time before his insides exploded. Making sure he didn't lose track of him he ran outside of the restaurant and to his luck taehyung was merely down the block.
" hyung!!" taehyung looked back at the mention and stopped, waiting for jeongguk to catch up.
jeongguk lazily hyung his arm around the others shoulder, and both began to soak in the sky decorated with stars. He noticed that taehyung was a little lost in his thoughts, so he wanted to raise the mood.
he gestured towards and ice cream shop. At the mention of ice cream the others face lit up, and nodded in excitement. Jeongguk chuckled at the others cuteness.
" 2 strawberry cones please." Taehyung smiled at how jeongguk knew him so well. They had known each other for a long time so it wouldn't be a surprise to either. Once they had their ice creams they walked farther, the night chillier. Soon they forgot about the dinner they had left just enjoying each other's warmth. Jeongguk felt taehyung shiver a little bit from the side and didn't hesitate taking off his sweater.
Taehyung noticed jeongguk was taking off his sweater and displayed a confused look on his face.
" what are you doing?" he asked suggestively.
Jeongguk didn't answer and instead put his hoodie around taehyung's small frame. The hoodie drowning him in warmth. Taehyung blushed at the contact and put his head down too scared to show his flustered face.
" but you're cold too gukkie!"
" i'm okay hyung, as long as you are warm." he softly smiled at him and hooked their arms together. The pout remained on the olders face which caused jeongguk to whisper a small ' cute,'
" what was that? " Jeongguk froze not expecting him to hear his small remark. Building up the courage as they neared a cross walk, he needed to say something.
" tae.. i've been wanting to say something to you. Not just right now, but for a while now..."
the other nodded and continued walking.
" tae i-"
it was too late. The older hadn't stopped walking. He walked on to the road. He didn't look both sides. It was like a action movie. a car had hit taehyung and he went flying through the air. Jeongguk stopped breathing, he didn't know what breathing was.
" TAEHYUNG!!" all he heard in these last few moments before his eyes closed were multiple police sirens, and a teary-eyed jeongguk running towards him.
the boy was sprawled across the floor, blood running down his forehead and bruises already beginning to appear.
" hyung no no no, open your eyes!! hyung no! " he screamed as if his life depended on it. It did, taehyung was his life. His only purpose, his world.
before he knew it police guards held his arms and dragged him away from the lifeless body. He whimpered and screamed until he couldn't anymore. The guards let him go once he was away from the scene and he ran. He ran as if walking didn't exist. He needed his hyungs.
just finishing up their dinner they walked out of the restaurant, chatting endlessly about some random korean drama. They all had smiles on their faces until they saw breathless jeongguk running towards them.
" t-taehyung got in a c-car accident." he could barely breathe, his words in a mere whisper.
the group stood frozen, scared to move.
kim taehyung had officially been admitted to emergency.
