Chapter 23 - Regret

After telling my brothers everything that has happened in the past month, ever since I met Jackson, they seem to take things in quite well. Well, at least that's what I thought......

"I understand that his your mate Ali but he raised his hand to you. From what you have told us, he has hurt you a lot in the little time you know him. What makes you think that his not going to betray you when he finds out who you really are?" Seth asked in a firm tone. His expression was serious as he held a poker face so I couldn't really make out exactly what he was thinking.

"I know you guys are worried but Jackson would not betray me like that. What happened yesterday was a shock to me but its not like him or his wolf meant to hurt me. Alina told me that, his wolf contacted mine and she said he was pretty beat up about the whole situation. Besides, I'm his mate, I know he would never hurt me intentionally" I defended my mate.

Although, I was pretty confused about the whole situation, I had time to think about it. I finally understood Jackson wasn't the kind of guy who would intentionally hurt me. Although we had little time together, I was beginning to understand him. He was kind, smart, compassionate, sweet.....he was everything I ever wanted in a mate. Someone I could trust and tell my deepest darkest secrets to, someone I could love unconditionally and who would love me back... not because of who or what I am but because of who I am as a person.

"Well, I'm still going to kill him" Jake spoke out in a killer voice which had the rest of the boys smirking. I didn't find it funny at all. I mean, brother or not, he will  it dear to threaten my mate.

"Jake.." I said in a threatening tone as I gave him a deadly glare. I knew he wouldn't actually hurt Jackson because he knew he would be hurting me. But with Jake, your never quiet sure.

"Fine" he gave in after a moment.  "I wont kill him..." he said in a sarcastic voice which made me smile.
"I just hurt him really, really bad" he added. I couldn't help but laugh at my brothers statement. No doubt,  he would be able to kill Jackson in a second. Although Jackson was a  strong and powerful Alpha, we were Lycans.....their strength was useless against us.

Finally the serious tension that was in the air was finally gone as the boys begain joking with Jake about how they think Jackson would kick his ass.

I joined in too, but mostly it was Zack and Alec that were winding Jake up which made him pretty mad.

Suddenly a familiar smell hit me making me zone out of the conversation the boys were having. He was near....I could smell.....I could feel him.....where was he?

My wolf got excited just thinking about him being near us again. Purring with delight, my heart starting beating rapidly as I closed my eyes to focus on where the scent was coming from so I could locate my mate. But I didn't need to.... the smell got stronger by the second. 

Opening my eyes, I saw him.
Standing at the door, his ocean blue eyes met mine for just a moment making my heart almost jump out of my chest. But it only lasted a second before those blue eyes turned red. He was angry, really angry. I should be the one angry, I mean all I'm going to hanging out with my brothers. It not a crime.

'Mate doesn't like us being around other males' Alina spoke up.

'But theses aren't just any males, their my brothers' I answers in a confused voice. Why would he get jealous of my brothers?

'Mate doesn't know their our brothers'

OMG!! She was right... Jackson had no idea I even had brothers. We never really got to know each other that well on a personal level. Hell, I don't even think he knows much about me or me about him. But that will have to wait. Right now, I have to stop my over possessive mate from trying to kill my brothers.
