It's midnight and a sudden flash of light struck behind me.

I turned to a fresh scent of rain and my heart filled with glee.

I pondered as the buildings were scraping the sky.

So birds will no longer be able to fly.

I looked down and saw a girl staring back at me.

She looked so happy, but her eyes said differently.

They signalled pain though she didn't want to cry.

And so she felt like a bird that's not able to fly.

Everything was fine, yet it wasn't suffice.

I stared for too long, so I blinked once or twice.

Suddenly, small drops on the girl start to huddle,

when then I had realised it's me through a puddle.
