Dark days whereupon the earth as evil creatures appeared. Nobody knows where they came from or how they got there, but these corruptive monsters could possess humans that are emotionally out of control. They don't fallow any type of law, be it heavenly or earthly, the only thing these creatures know is destruction and chaos.
These monsters were called... "Lawless."
The Lawless rampaged across the globe bringing disaster all around. Kingdoms waged war against them. Some fell, some stood strong, but in the end, the damage was great. No matter how many times they managed to hold them back the Lawless kept coming.
" Where they come from?" "How they got here?" "What do they want?" "How long must we suffer?" These questions and many more were asked constantly and they were always left unanswered.
One day, the King of "Grand Victoria", the land of the south and the smallest of all the kingdoms, gathered all his officers to discuss ideas and develop a plan to annihilate the monsters. Wise-men, mages, soldiers and slaves, everyone started looking for some type of a clue that could bring light to this situation. Books, maps, anything with information was analyzed in detail.
Time passed and desperation was at its peak, all of a sudden, one of the wise-men rushed to the throne room with a book in his hand.
"My Lord, I found something" The wise-man shouted.
He opened the book revealing a journal written by an archaeologist who had an encounter with the Lawless in one of his excavations. The book had information about a place where these creatures could not enter and was surrounded by a blinding light that didn't allow anyone to move towards it. The archaeologist referred to this place as "The Halo". In his writings, he describes the place as something no less than a miracle. In the middle of the desert, an Oasis was formed without having the needed elements to form one. No rain, no underground rivers, nothing that would explain the abundance of trees and life that was found in there.
They continued reading and along with the pages, a map was found containing the Halo's location. At that moment an order was given by the King to assemble the troops and get ready his horse, they would depart immediately to find this place. If, truly, there was something that could put a stop to these creatures it was worth going there...
After a long journey, As they made their way through the forest, the King and his troops stumbled with warning signs that were written by the local tribes. All around the path, signs explained the danger of the place that was just ahead. Disregarding the cautionary advice, the King kept moving, following the dirt trail that would take him past the thick forest.
The sight of the trees was becoming less as they moved forward. The rays of the Sun pierce through the foliage, becoming brighter and brighter reaching the end of the trail.
Passing the last few trees, the sight that was beyond the forest had everybody baffled. In front of their eyes, miles, and miles of lifeless dry land, scorching heat and one last sign that read "Mors Desert".
