Have you ever dreamed of a place so perfect that you were hooked on that idea. To the point that you lost touch with the world. Nothing could harm you, well except reality. You became overly obsessed to were you expected those around you to treat you differently.
Maybe you dream of one day a boy or girl sweeping you off your feet and changing your life forever. And I hate to break it to you honey but us humans are to clumsy for that, I should know. A massive kingdom, an innocent child, and her ambition. That's all it takes for a hurricane to take interest.
I felt the familiar hand on my back, Adriana, my handmaiden for ten years. My groan filled the room. Adriana let a small laugh slip out as she laid out my dress on the chair in front of me. And I had to forcefully push myself up and rub my eyes aggressively to get all the sleep out.
I attempted to run my fingers through my hair but they got caught in the curls, making me pull hard the rest of the way through leaving stains of red hair between my fingers. I stretched out my legs that were to wobbly to carry me yet, but Adriana grabbed my hands pulling me up. Gaining my balance I hobbled over to my long mirror hanging near my bath door. Adriana began to unlace my nightgown and pull it up over my head.
"Owwww. It's stuck again," I chortled, my morning voice coming through. And with my dress pulled over my head, I felt her fingers at work with my hair. Until finally one rip and my hair was unstuck. "I hate my hair."
"I would do anything for such crazy curls but I'm stuck with this." She sighed holding up a lock of her pin straight hair raven hair. "How about we switch."
"I'll let you know when I find a potion for that." I said holding my arms up for her to slip my light yellow gown on over the petty coat which I loathed with all my heart. It so scratching even through my other layers. We both turned out heads to the knock on the door and I took the liberty of calling out, "go away Greyson, I can smell you from here."
"That's definitely one way to greet your sister," Willow chuckled raising a hand to cover her mouth when she laughed. Willow had always been aware of her smile being a little crooked. Personally I thought she was perfect not a thing out of place. "Now you realize we have to been in the hall right now."
"Yes." I droned. Adriana pulled my corset so tight I let out a moan, and Willow walked behind me and grabbed hold of the strings. When she pulled them up I swear she lifted me off the ground. "Ow. How rude."
"Life sucks. Wear some armor." She said before smacking my fore head with her palm. And I shot her a look, I couldn't help but notice the ring on her finger. Before I could say anything she grabbed my hand and whispered, "I'm engaged."
"Your what!" I exclaimed. Willow raised a finger to my mouth glancing over to Adriana. I knew Adria wouldn't say anything she's my favorite person here, well besides Willow. "To who, wait not to...."
"Yes. Now I know you don't like him but he's gonna be in our life. So please behave." Willow said point her finger in my face to make herself clear. And I folded my arms, letting out a huff. She placed her hand on my cheek and winked before softly saying. "One day your gonna meet your husband and you'll understand."
"Oh please. This whole thing is foolish, who's to say who I am to love." I protested. Willow took her hand off my face and looped it through my arm. We walked side by side out to the hallway and in silence we made it to the grand hall. Where of course my mother and father stood waiting for all nine of us children. My mother, Queen Ava, tapped her foot signifying she wasn't happy with someone. "I was up practicing potions, it's not my fault."
"I don't want excuses. I want you here on time from this point on or I will be implementing some new punishments." Mother threatened and turned her attention to the rest of my siblings. "As you all know, Willow is to be married. While your brother, Ezra, will be having his coronation tomorrow evening. You shall all be well behaved, I will not tolerate sloppiness or any jokes."
