Tick, tick, tick,
The clock softly sounded throughout the room. It read 3:59. The hand had only moved two minutes since the last time Lovino checked it, glancing at the machine as irritation slowly bubbled up inside of him. He was seated at a desk, one that was closest to the door, in the classroom. His prissy teacher, Mr Edelstein, had granted him a detention for "inappropriate language and gestures, angry outbursts and improper uniform".
He'd spent half an hour sitting there doing nothing; now he wanted some entertainment.
The Italian stared longingly out the window, squinting as the afternoon sun shone luridly through the windows. The stuffy, orange hued classroom caused him to sweat in his thick tan jumper. This is bullshit, he thought, fanning his face languidly. A big oak tree was situated across the road with a black circular shadow projecting over the grassy field. It looked chill and inviting to Lovino; it was summer after all.
He checked the clock again, groaning inwardly when it read 4:00. Mr Edelstein looked stoic but he was also counting down the minutes he could leave. Lovino glumly fiddled with his phone in his lap and decided that texting someone for the next hour could provide sufficient entertainment. He opened up his text history and tapped most recent one - which was with Antonio. He quickly typed a message to his boyfriend: L: Help. Stuck in detention. Save me, bastard.
Lovino slipped his phone back into his pocket and resumed his position of staring out of the window. He tapped his foot under the table impatiently. Antonio would always usually text back in the first minute after the Italian had sent a text, but after 5 minutes with no response, Lovino had concluded that he was busy.
Tick, tick, tick
The door flung open at 4:05 making the two men jump. Antonio divulged himself at the doorframe looking very determined. Lovino could only watch in confusion as he strutted over to his desk, grip the Italian by the wrist and yank him out of the desk.
"What the fuck are you doing, bastard?" He hissed, trying to free himself.
"I'm trying to smuggle you out of here," Antonio whispered back. "I'll distract him while you run."
Lovino smacked his forehead and dragged the hand down his face dramatically. "If you're smuggling someone, you do it quietly and attempt to not draw attention to yourself!" Antonio had taken him literally after all.
"I guess I didn't plan thoroughly enough..." Antonio trailed off, rubbing his chin.
"You think, dipshit?"
Mr Edelstein watched them bicker, looking amused. He shut his book, placed it on the desk and leaned on his chair. "Carrideo, it's nice of you to join us today. Take a seat next to Vargas," he demanded. Antonio dropped his boyfriend's wrist and slipped into the desk instantly, head ducked.
"Yes, sir," he replied meekly. Lovino plonked back into his desk and glared at the Spaniard. The teacher picked up his book and resumed reading. Great. Now he was stuck in detention for another 50 minutes with Antonio, and it didn't help that he kept staring at Lovino with an idiotic smile glued to his face. Maybe Lovino should stop looking eyeing him. My hero. He thought caustically, blushing softly when Antonio grinned at him again.
A rough sigh came from the front of the room as a chair scraped across the floor. "I'm going to run some errands and will return at 5 o'clock," Mr Edelstein announced. He stopped at the door and glared at them over his glasses. "I trust you boys will remain quiet and in the building."
