One step ahead

"Someone's lying"

Kelly's POV

   "Kelly come here and help with the decorations" Alex beamed, "yes Alex" I grinned "I'm really excited" he smiled, "I can tell" I laughed. "Is Pay-Pay and Dylan coming over?" He grinned, "nah Paisley said she wanted to play video games and Dylan said he'd join her", "that's cool" Alex smiled, "the guests will be here any minute now" he says anxiously "guests? You mean the entire school" I laughed.

A few minutes later the doorbell rang and I went to get it as I opened the door I saw Micheal, Kory's boyfriend, Kory and Tessa, Micheal's sister, head cheerleader and student council vice president. "Hey Kelly!" Micheal grinned while walking in, "Hey guys we just finished setting up you're kind of early" I laughed. "Uh yeah we know the party really starts later but Micheal wanted to help set up" Kory smiled.

"Oh hey Alex" Tessa beamed, I know she didn't speak to me but I got the feeling she didn't like me very much. "Hey Tess, can you do me a favor and clean that table" Alex smiled at her and she got to it right away. "Kelly how's Paisley and Dylan?" Micheal laughed, "they're good, they're not coming to the party so don't worry" I smiled.

  An hour and a half later guests started arriving, it looks like Alex didn't expect them to be so late, he probably didn't have much partys . Everyone gathered around the living room at 11:00 pm and a sophomore suggested we play Truth or dare. "Guys I have a better idea how about we break in the hanging clock mansion" Micheal smirked, my heart stopped "that's not a bad idea" another sophomore spoke up and everyone agreed, Alex looked at me nervously "you okay with that?" Alex asked, "come on Kelly! You can handle it right" Kory waved me off, "sure I can, let's go" I replied.

  The night was cold, everyone piled in their cars to go and I was more than worried about how the mansion is at night, they say when you step foot inside some lights go on like Oliver knows you're here. If you go up to the room he slept in you are sure to be hanged and your body would be a gateway for him. I learnt so much over the year about the curse I feel even more nervous than back then.

Upon arriving Micheal and Kory were the first to walk up to the mansion, "gotta say I'm not so sure this was a good idea" Micheal said, "I think it's a great idea, now we'll all know the truth about Oliver Mcgreggor" Kory chimed, at that some of the lights in the mansion switched on and nobody spoke for a good few minutes.

  "That's it I'm out!" two freshmen yelled getting in a car and a couple others piled in too, most of the sophomores and seniors stayed. "This was the worse idea in the history of worst ideas" Tessa said, she looked really pale, "yes thank you Micheal" another senior, Scarlet Carson, mocked. "Look people it was originally a joke, and yeah maybe it was a bad idea" Micheal shrugged, "come on guys let's just take a peek" Alex suggested, "Yeah! Way to go Alex!" Micheal said slapping Alex on the back.

Alex walked up to the door shaking a bit and turned the knob, he quickly threw open the door in fear and we all saw what was inside, mirrors long rectangular 50 inch mirrors, "what the hell?" Micheal laughed "frickin mirrors, Oliver must've been some real good lookin piece of shit" Micheal couldn't contain his laughter, "shut up" Kory kicked him in the shin, "ouch jeez" he winced. "I'm goin in" Alex said  and everyone followed him in.

  The house wasn't as dark as it was in the morning when Taylor and I went, the furniture was ancient and they're were weird paintings but overall it seemed like just an old house, that was until I heard a tiny voice "Kelly is that you? It's been a while" it sounded familiar, I turned around "who said that?" I asked immediately, everyone looked at me weirdly "I just said it smells like a toilet in here" Kory said frowning, "oh, yeah sorry, I'm kinda scared" o shook my head "Do you wanna go home?" Alex said looking worried for me, "no, no it's fine" I reassured him.

  Micheal was first to walk upstairs "guys there's like 50 rooms up here" he whispered "yeah, let's not randomly go into rooms stupid"  Scarlet rolled her eyes. "Guys there's a room over here with a creepy eye on it" Alex cringed "oh let's open it" Kory agreed, but what was behind that door was the worst thing imaginable, when Alex opened that door they saw it, Alex was hanging from a beam in the ceiling. "What the hell!" Micheal yelled, Alex slammed the door and ran down the stairs everyone came out running and fleeing, I was in shock but Kory pulled me out and we all piled in the car.

  " what the actual f..." Micheal shouted "shut up" Kory yelled. Alex kept his eyes on the road while driving, Tessa, Micheal and Kory in the backseat, "Guys did you all see what I saw?" Alex said calmly, "yeah" we all answered quietly, "guy's, I need everyone to tell me what they saw?" He frowned, "dude, everyone saw it, some frickin ghost went and hanged you" Micheal argued, "no, that's not what I saw, someone I know someone close to me is going to kill me tonight" Alex said again, "Alex, what the hell are you talking about" Kory asked, "Yeah Alex how'd you get that" Tessa looked paler. "Someone's lying" he says finally , "someone who's my friend has been lying to me, and whoever it is, please reconsider", those were his final words that night to us.
