Free Fall

Eyes locked
a distance apart, you had moved and fear still gripped me.
My feet rooted to an edge so close yet so far.
Your hand reached and though the distance I siren called to a lonely heart to beat.
To release the rhythm only yours knew. To love.
And with scared hands and pieces of a soul I jumped,
Over the edge and over the fear
In hopes that you will catch me for in all my free fall you may have moved and distance may have been more friend than foe.
