The Island Of Rust

Part 1 The Awakening

Hello there survivor, I'm resna and welcome to the Island of Rust... confused? So was I when I first woke up, but hopefully all of your questions will be answered In this story of how I survived here, Now listen closely and maybe you'll learn a few things I wish I'd known when I first got here.

First of all your probably wondering what Rust is right? Rust is an Island filled to the brim with history, confusion, weird power, radiation, and danger. Sounds like a nice place to go camping right? Well into my story.

I woke up on the beach, as you likely did, at first I was confused, I wondered for a bit and eventually found a sort of walled camp Wich I now know was the scientist camp, a little safe place with some armed guys in blue hazmat suits and automated turret systems Wich protect the area and there's a couple shop fronts where you can trade with some of the scientists and other survivors there.

I got a stone hatchet from someone and got to work on some wood eventually I had a stone pickaxe as well from trading. I came across some hemp and harvested a bunch of it and made some rope. I went to the woods again,got a long stick and made a bow. I still don't know know how I knew to do that, maybe it's the weird power I'll tell you about later. Then I used my stone hatchet to chip some sharp stones off of a rock and got some straight sticks off of the ground and used some of the rope I had to make some arrows.

Then I heard it, the sound of gunfire in the distance. Any other day I would've ran but something urged me to go check it out. I snuck up carefully and then I saw it. There was a guy in full scrap metal gear, I mean helmet, body armor, leggings, and boots. He looked like a scrap night and his back was to me, he had a revolver and he was shooting at some guys in the distance who were shooting back, he was definitely outnumbered.

I had three choices, run, help him, or kill him. I chose help, I got next to him, thew him a piece of cloth and started shooting with my bow, at first he turned and I thought he was going to shoot me but he said "Here!" And gave me a crossbow. I started shooting but there were too many. He got shot so I took his belt, backpack, gun, and ammo and ran.

I ran and ran until I made it to the scientist camp, then I learned what happens when you attack the camp. They shot at me then a hail of bullets from the scientists and turrets in their direction, then screams. I know I shot at some people but hearing them scream as they bled out was... horrifying to say the least. One of the scientists ran up to me offered me a bandage roll and asked if I was ok. I took the bandage because I cut my self earlier and said yes, but before I could ask what happened they walked away.
