Chapter Eight: Is This What They Call Happily Ever After..?

Nightmare woke up in bed. He sat up, looking at his hands which were covered in goop again. He also didn't feel like he was going to cough as he sat up.

'was it all a dream....?' Nightmare thought to himself. He looked around the room.... Wait a minute, this isn't his room and this isnt his bed....

Nightmare looked next to him, Error was there. This was Error's room. The question is, who thought to lay him in Error's bed instead of his own? Did Error put him here?

Soon enough Error woke up, he immediately looked at Nightmare. Error sat up quickly and he looked a bit spooked.

"How did you- When-" Error stuttered, he was confused.

"I don't know, I thought you put me on your bed...?" Nightmare asked.

"No, last thing I remember is crashing after you passed out... wait, how are you alive I thought you died?!" Error said.

"Well, im alive and I think im cured....?" Nightmare said, slowly the realization crept into his mind. He was cured. He didn't have hanahaki anymore... Apparently that thought didn't cross Error's mind, he was still very confused and worried about all that was happening. Along with the recent break up with Ink. It was a lot for him.

"Well, that's good that your alive. I don't know what I would do if you had died..." Error said, not realizing how much those words meant to Nightmare. Nightmare pulled Error into a hug. Error glitched a bit, but hugged Nightmare back

"I'm sorry I caused so much trouble...." Nightmare said.

"...It's fine, Ink had always been distant anyways" Error told Nightmare. They stayed hugging for a while until Error let go of the hug.

"So.... You know what me being cured means right Error....?" Nightmare said. Error looked at him, the realization coming to his mind.

"Oh, right.... I do feel that way towards you but i'm not ready for another relationship right now..." Error said. Nightmare nodded, he understood.

"Well, then we can stay friends for now until you feel better okay? We may both feel more for each other than that but you need time to heal" Nightmare said, putting a calming hand on Error's cheek and softly smiling at him. Error looked at Nightmare, he put his hand on Nightmare's and smiled.

"I'd like that... I'd like that a lot" Error said.

"Okay, let's go get food huh? Cross and Killer taught themselves how to cook, although it's not as good as your cooking but it's edible" Nightmare said, taking his hand off Error's face. Error laughed a bit, he was a little glad to not be the only one who could cook. The two exited the room and headed downstairs. Killer and Cross were in the kitchen, Fell was nowhere in sight and Lust was pestering Dust about texting someone. Nightmare walked into the kitchen and Error went to sit on the couch.

"Oh, hey Nightmare! Glad you aren't dead else that'd have sucked when Error woke up" Killer said.

"So, now I know he put me there" Nightmare said, he turned to Cross. "Remind me to kill Killer after breakfast."

Cross just nodded, not wanting to piss off Nightmare. Although, he wasn't going to remind him. Nightmare grabbed a piece of toast off a plate that had a few pieces of toast on it and walked to the living room.

When he got in there, it was chaos. Dust was hiding in the corner while Lust had his phone and Error's phone. Error was trying to get his own back but Lust wouldn't let him get it. Every time Error tried to tie up or grab his phone Lust would moan. It was disgusting.

"What the hell happened here" Nightmare said. Lust immediately turned his gaze to Nightmare.

"Nothing-" He said.

"Give Error and Dust their phones back, you dumbass" Nightmare said. Lust gave Error his phone back but typed something into Dust's before handing it back. Nightmare walked over to the couch with his toast and sat on the end furthest from where Lust was.

"Lust what did you send to him-" Dust said, looking at his phone.

"Oh, nothing special~ Just that you like him~" Lust said, running upstairs afterwards. A door slam was heard as Lust closed himself in his room so Dust wouldn't murder him.

"wHAT-" Dust yelled after Lust, chasing after him. Dust eventually came back downstairs, defeated. He sat on the ground in the corner looking at his phone.

Error was sitting on the couch, opposite end to Nightmare, he moved closer to him. 

"I was thinking, maybe later today we could go to Outertale and talk-" Error asked Nightmare.

"Sure" Nightmare said. Error smiled and moved so he was right next to Nightmare. Nightmare coiled a tentacle around Error, who didn't seem to mind. They used to do that all the time anyways back before Error had been sent on his undercover missions. Before he had fallen for the creator. Before Nightmare had hanahaki. Back when everything was perfect, when the universes were stable and none were being created or destroyed. When there was peace.

Soon enough, the time came when everyone decided to go do there own thing. Dust headed off to Underswap to meet with someone (take a guess), Lust had wandered off with Horror to... Well you don't wanna know what they're up to. Killer was asleep and Cross was probably eating chocolate.

Error and Nightmare.... They had headed to Outertale. Things were looking up for everyone, or were they.......?
