Prologue
It's been two years since Matsukaze Tenma and his friends in Raimon's soccer team won the Holy Road and defeated Fifth Sector. (The Chrono Stone arc did happen, but the Galaxy arc didn't.)
The third and second years have moved onto high school, and now Tenma and the rest of the first years are now third years.
Many things have changed since the Holy Road.
For some reason, no one joined the team last year, so now Raimon only has five players, the coach, Endou Mamoru, the counselor, Otonashi Haruna, and Aoi, Tenma's friend and a third year who is the manager for the team again this year. The five players are:
Matsukaze Tenma, the captain and a midfielder.
Nishizono Shinsuke, the goalkeeper, who started as a defender when he was a first year.
Tsurugi Kyousuke, the quiet yet powerful ace striker/forward.
Kariya, the defender.
And Kageyama Hikaru, the other forward.
Their trainer, Kidou, had gone back to Teikoku Academy as Teikoku's coach about a year and a half ago.
