I brushed my daughter's blonde hair out of her face. Her bright blue eyes look into mine. She is eight years old now and beautiful. My daughter, I named her Prim in memory of my younger sister. She actually looks so much like Prim. I look over and see Peeta playing with my youngest son, Finnick. I also named him that in memory of Finnick. His brown hair and gray eyes. I started to tear up remembering them, how my sister and the flirtatious, Finnick never deserved to die.
" Are you okay, mommy?" Prim asked. I looked at her and tried to wipe away my tears quickly.
" Yes I'm okay, little duck. " I answered. I looked over at Peeta again to see him looking back at me. He walked over to me and hugged me.
" Your having memories, aren't you?" Peeta whispered into my ear.
" Yes." I answered. I started to cry again but harder. I look up to see my son and daughter playing with each other. Oh how I would have loved to see Prim and Finnick alive again. For them to see my children and then see their children and become an Aunt. Peeta backed up and looked me in the eyes. His eyes are moving in a weird way. I then noticed he was gripping on my wrists tightly. His nails scratching my skin.
" Peeta... Peeta! Come back to me!!" I yelled. The children started to look over my way. His eyes weren't going back as they used to. He wasn't going back to his normal state.
" Mutt." he muttered. His nails were getting deeper and deeper into my skin. He was having a longer attack than usual. This wasn't going to end well.
" Prim, Finnick. RUN!" I screamed at them. I had told Prim if he was ever having a long attack to run to the basement and lock it.
" RUN!" I screamed again. They started to run away to the house to head for the basement. When we first had the house he had an attack and he was okay after words and I talked to him about the basement idea. At first Peeta didn't agree to it . Then he had an attack within the next couple weeks. He then agreed after the attack.
" Mutt!! You killed my family!" he screamed. He pushed me down on the ground and I landed in the grass. He stood up and kicked me in the stomach multiple times. I started crying and yelping in the pain.
" Stop Peeta! It isn't real!!" I yelled at him my eyes closed, turning away waiting for the next kick but there wasn't one. I looked up and Peeta was on top of me.
" That is not true!!" He started to punch me. He hit me in the eye and in the ribs multiple times. It stopped all the sudden. I was sobbing trying to keep up with my breath and holding my side in pain. I opened my eyes to see Peeta looking at me. His eyes now normal. seeing what he had done to me.
" Katniss.." he breathed. A tear slid down his cheek.
" I.. Im... " He started sobbing. I tried to reach up to move his tears away from his face but I grimaced. He noticed me and looked at me with guilt. He looked down at the ground still crying.
" I deserve to die. " He whispered.
" No..",I said crying. " don't say that." He looked down at me and started to shake his head. He looked down at the ground again.
" Is Prim and Finnick okay? " he said with worry in his eyes.
" There fine. I told them to run." I explained. After me and Peeta had children, when he is hijacked the memory gets flooded and he thinks that the children were part of the plan to get him also.
He picked me up wedding style and brought me to our room. He set me on the bed gently and kissed me.
" I'm sorry. " he whispered into my ear. He backed up and started to walk away.
" Prim? Finnick? You can come out now. " Peeta said with a frown. He hates the idea of his children hiding from him. He walked to the basement door and knocked twice, then once, and then three times. That was meaning he wasn't having one of his attacks. The door slightly opened and I saw Prim stick her head out and she saw Peeta.
" Daddy?" she asked. He looked down at her and smiled sadly. Prim then hugged her dad and then Finnick came out with tear stains on his cheeks. He must of been scared out of his mind. Peeta saw Finnick and got teary eyed. He hated being hijacked, but there was no way of changing it now. The Capitol changed him, and he will never be the same.
