Chapter 7

-Soul's POV-

It was REALLY happening. This was real. This was all real. What I'd been dreaming for for years is actually happening. I felt my heart racing, my cheeks bright red, my hands and legs shaking, but I tried to keep my cool.

Wasn't working too well.

-Maka's POV-

One moment ago I was eating a damn sandwich, now I'm kissing Soul?! What the hell am I doing?? Have I gone crazy? Have I lost control? I mean, even though his lips were.. So soft... it's SOUL! This mysterious jerk I've known for two years. Again, what am I doing?! No matter how bewildered I am, I couldn't pull away. Its not that I like it but.. Yeah okay I do like it, but its also my first kiss. He was such an amazing kisser though..

-Soul's POV-

it finally broke. I looked away to avoid eye contact, while feeling my cheeks burning red. I dared a small glance at Maka. She had one finger on her slightly pinker lips, eyes focused down with a far away expression on her face. Did she not like it..? She met my eyes and smiled, god she was beautiful.

"What was that for?" She asked me.

"Well.. I um.." I mumbled.

"Go on, tell me." She said, nudging me with her elbow.

"I've been wanting to do that for.. Death knows how long." I said, casting my eyes to the grass below. She laughed, and took a bite of her sand which. Relieved she didn't say anything else, I continued to eat my sandwich too.

-hours later-

She helped me carry everything back to the car. Being the complete gentleman that I am (only for this night) I held the door open for her. She smiled at me, looking a little surprised too, and got in, me following after. The ride home was.. Awkward, to say the least. Closer to home, Maka fell asleep, with her head on my shoulder. When we got home, I carried her upstairs and got her changed into her PJs, keeping my eyes closed because I'm pretty sure she has senses that can wake her up and Maka-chop me, and tucked her into bed. I snuck a little kiss on her forehead too, because, hey, I can, and went to bed myself. What a day..
