Armin looked out at the roads, cars whizzing by him. Tears welled in his eyes. It was for the better, no one wanted him here anyways. He was just a big screwup, someone who could never do anything right. He was bullied, people beat him up and called him names. Their voices rang in his head. They where right though, he was worthless, he was all the things they called him.
Armin stepped off the curb, inching closer to the road. He started to say all his mistakes out loud until he got to the very last one. He hesitated to say it.
"I, Armin Arlert have fallen in love with my best friend."
He walked into the middle of the road, willing himself to die. He couldn't stand breathing anymore. Out of the darkness, headlights came closer by the second. Armin froze. He realized he was terrified, terrified of death. The car came ever closer, in a few seconds it would hit him and it would be all over. Tears spilled onto his cheeks.
"Someone please! Save me! I don't want to die!" He screamed.
A hand grabbed Armin's own and pulled him out of the street seconds before the car rushed past them. Armin's legs gave out and he collapsed into the arms of the person who saved him. Armin looked up only to see Eren's face. Eren was crying.
"Armin! Armin! Thank God you're okay! I thought... I thought I wasn't going to make it in time!" Eren held Armin close, stroking his soft blonde locks.
"Eren I-" Armin was cut off by Eren.
"You idiot! What the hell where you thinking? You could have fucking died!"
Armin sobbed into Eren's shoulder, grabbing fistfuls of Eren's shirt.
"I'm sorry!" He whispered.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't take it anymore! Being bullied and..." Eren pulled back to look at Armin. He wiped the tears from Armin's cheeks and hugged him again.
"It's okay, it's all gonna be okay now. I'm here now."
Eren carried a sleeping Armin to his house, being careful not to wake anyone. He tiptoed up the stairs and opened the door to his room. He gently laid Armin down on his bed and pulled the blanket over him. Eren kissed Armin's forehead and whispered, "Goodnight Armin."
Mikasa stood at the door, a blank expression on her face.
"You love him, don't you?"
Eren was shocked, when did Mikasa come in?
"Mikasa! I-" he stuttered. Mikasa smiled at him.
"Yes, I do." He whispered. Mikasa laughed softly.
"I always knew it! Since we were small I knew you loved him, the way you look at him and smile gives it away."
"Is it really that obvious?"
"Yes." Mikasa looked at Armin with a soft smile.
"You should tell him." Mikasa turned around and walked out of the room, leaving Eren alone with Armin. Eren crawled under the blanket next to Armin and listened to his breaths until he fell asleep.
