Kelliana trudges behind Uriah into a bar and grill restaurant as she glances around at the rugged and rusty interior of the place.
"There's so many old men here", she whispers her thoughts aloud, earning an amused expression from Uriah as he peered over his shoulder to look at her.
"Relax, missy. The place isn't as bad as it seems."
Uriah leads them towards a booth near the register as Kelliana forces herself to follow him. She begins to feel uncomfortable at how there is a beer bar a few feet from them in a separate room from the dining area, the sight of old men staring at her and giving her weird looks as she stood out like a sore thumb with her thigh-high flare skirt and Jimmy Choo wedges. But she was hungry and she couldn't deny the amazing aroma drifting from the low-staff kitchen a few metres from her.
They both sit down at the booth, Kelliana noticing the rips and strains of the leather material of the seat, but disguises her look of judgement on her face before she starts offending the bad boy who picked this place.
A man approaches the two at the table, smiling at Uriah as they exchange greetings in a friendly manner. It seemed that the man appeared to be the owner of the restaurant as he calls out to his staff to put on extra sides for free. He then glances at Kelliana and gives her a warm smile.
"Uriah, you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend", he pleasantly says, pushing his hand out to her as she shakes it, not wanting to be rude even though she would've preferred a simple no-contact, smiley exchange.
Uriah chuckles as he glances over at her and then back to the owner, not denying their relationship which Kelliana noticed.
The owner leaves them to look through the menu, retreating back to the kitchen.
"Why did you lie to him?"
Uriah glances up from the menu, raising his eyebrow. He leans back onto the booth, holding the menu upright on the table as he looks at her.
"Well if you wanna be a couple, might as well start getting into the role."
She rolls her eyes at him.
"I didn't say I wanted to date you, I just want Dean to see you with me. There's a difference", she mumbles, her eyes downcast as she scans the menu while simultaneously inserting hand sanitiser on her hands. She hears him mutter incoherent words followed with his notorious chuckle.
"Is there anything healthy I can eat on this menu?", she speculated as her eyes scanned the menu, trying to look for a low-carb meal.
"It's a bar and grill. The only healthy thing that you're after is a salad, which is disgusting."
As much as Kelliana would love to break her diet, she didn't want to order a hefty meal in front of Uriah. So she decides to play it safe and just order a chicken caesar salad. Nothing goes wrong with a chicken caesar salad.
The owner returns with his notepad, asking them what they would like to order.
"I'll get ribs, with fries on the side, two cheesy garlic breads and a cheeseburger, and a basket of spicy fried chicken", Uriah loads on him, earning a stunned reaction from Kelliana but it seemed the owner was used to this kind of behaviour from him. The man turns to her and she tells him that she wants the caesar salad and he nods, telling them that he'll bring it out and then leaves.
"God, you're such a pig."
"I'm a man, what do you expect me to eat? A salad?"
She rolls her eyes at him again and rests her arms on the table.
