        Well... it seems that I'm going to start treading into dangerous territory here. So here is my WARNING: If you CANNOT take my OPINION on DEPRESSION, please direct yourself to the next article.

 

        I don't understand the premise of depression. I just don't.

        I mean, yeah, I understand that there's an astounding amount of pain you're carrying on your shoulders if you're depressed, but what's stopping you from being happy?

        Everyone's situation is different.

        Everyone won't encounter the same things in life.

        Everyone has problems.

        Everyone has varying degrees of problems.

        Everyone's problems have a solution.

        So many people say that other people just don't understand their problems and that they have to deal with their issues all alone. That certainly isn't true. You can see people in your life that may seem completely fine on the outside, but have been going through way worse stuff on the inside.

        For example, I have a friend named Andy (not his real name) at school. He was that type of person who was always joking around and was just that funny, social guy everyone knew and liked. He cared about a lot of people and would cheer you up if you were feeling down. Just recently, I learned that his mother had died not too long ago and he had the worst breakdown I'd ever heard of-- he couldn't cope with it.

        But he pushed through and finally let go because he knew being depressed over it wouldn't bring his mother back. He's happy now knowing that she's probably happy wherever she is, and that she would be happy if he continued living his life as well.

        He solved his problem by simply letting go.

        Sometimes, people just need to do the same.
