"Exactly $850!" I exclaimed placing the small stack of cash into my landlords hand.

His head nodded as he licked his thumb, counting the money gracefully and handing me back a fifty dollar bill. My eyebrows furrowed at his actions as he shook his head.

"Actually you gave me exactly $900, must have been a mistake" he said letting out a slight chuckle as I crossed my arms.

"Dammit, again?" I cursed under my breath. Zayn looked at me placing the rent money into his satchel and closing it.

"That apartment has been empty for three months straight" I added. His eyes looking up at me as he adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose and pushing them back up.

"Not for long"

"Oh really?" I asked, my arms still folded as I leaned against my door frame, Zayn looked very handsome in his black suit and his hair combed into a middle part. Probably the prettiest man I've ever seen in this town and I was loving every sight so of course I had to prolong the conversation so he could stick around a little bit longer.

Even if my breath had a small scent of dark roast coffee, just like his.

"Yes, one of my friends is renting out that apartment. He's from England so don't make fun of his accent when he gets here" he looks at me sternly.

"I know how you can get Elena, his name is Harry and you should bring him flowers" he added.

"Flowers?"

"Yes, he likes flowers. He has a garden, so I think it would be really nice if his neighbor made him feel at home" he said handing me my receipt.

"Fine" I let out.

He's probably ugly and old. I hope he doesn't think this is my way of trying to make a move if I do this, because that will be very sad and I wouldn't mind moving downstairs with all the junkies and drunks.

"Thank you, Eli..I'll see you next month. Be nice!" Zayn says lastly before walking down the hall and into the elevator. I laugh at the nickname and close my door and lean up against it, thinking of where I can possibly get flowers in this town.

This is going to be interesting.

I wake up to the sound of movers and loud banging against my walls. They really couldn't be any louder ?

I groan rubbing my eyes as the bright golden sun poked through the blinds and stabbing me right in the eyes.

My heart started to flutter at the fact that Harry was moving next door and I finally had a new neighbor.. maybe he's a nice guy and I could have a friend to talk to for once.

My plan was to wait until he was settled all the way in his apartment before giving him the pink peonies that I had brought him. I didn't want to be so intruding, I'm sure he was new to this whole country since he's from England.

After having my coffee and feeding Daisy, my kitten, I finally got ready for work. Pulling my brunette hair into a tight pony and applying neutral makeup, I work at a small clothing store downtown but I am still in university for communications. I try to work as much as possible but it hard to balance school and work.

By the time I was done getting ready for work the moving and and the loud banging had stopped so I decided to be the kind person that I am and bring Harry the pink peonies.

I placed them firmly in a clear vase and grabbed my purse, kissing Daisy goodbye and locking the door behind me.

I took a deep breath before knocking on Harry's door and standing on his welcome mat that says "welcome to the shit show". I let out a small laugh as the door swung open revealing a rather young man.

Oh wow. He was handsome.

Too handsome.

His eyes were green and his hair was curly as a small smile appeared on his lips, revealing his deep dimples that made my heart flutter by the second.

"Uhh hi?" He greeted me with a small question, most likely confused as to why I was standing at his door, breathtakingly and not saying a word.

"Uhhh hi!, you must be Harry!" I brought my hand out to shake his hand as he shook it back, still confused with his eyebrow raised.

"My name is Elena, um..I live right across from you and I thought it would be nice to bring you these" I said giving him the peonies as he slowly took them away.

A small smile plastering across his lips as he admired them.

"I love flowers, thank you Elena" he says. My heart fluttering as his deep accent rolled off his tongue.

He was too sexy, with his shirt undone like that.

His tattoos showing through and his necklace hanging against his bare chest. I need some milk.

"Of course, my pleas-"

"Harry, honey.. who is it?" A females voice peered from his apartment, a blonde woman stands next to him wrapping her arms around his chest and glancing at me.

"This is my neighbor, Elena" Harry introduces me as my cheeks flush red. She grabs the peonies from Harry and sniffs them.

"You can call me Eli-" I started but the blonde woman cut me off.

"Oh hi, my name is Sadie, this was very nice of you" she says referring to the vase she was holding. I nod as Harry holds her tightly against his chest.

"Of course.."
