"Please dad" the brunet teen begs his father for the third time. He wanted to go down to the docks and fish or just stare at the water, anything would be better than being trapped at home all day.

"I said no Rye and that's final" The father says authoritatively. Rye rolled his eyes and groaned, dramatically falling on the floor.

His father had had about enough when he started to roll around the floor groaning like a wounded whale."fine, go to the docks" he says pointing to the door and rubbing at his Temples.

Rye got up immediately with a large smile on his face. "Thank you" he said quickly giving him a side hug and running out of the door. His father laughed as he watched him go, the boy was quite a handful.

Rye ran fast as he could down to the docks. He celebrated when he saw that no one else was there and went straight to the sanded almost beach like near the docks. He always went here when he wanted to find treasure.

His friends all thought he was too childish for his age. I mean, what sixteen year old boy still believes in mermaids and mermen? Rye that's who and he isn't ashamed of it. He often checked out books from the school library about the mythical creatures. Since it was summer now, checking out books had been put off.

He walked along the sand and picked up anything that looked unusual. There was a seashell that looked a little too shiny and weird colored to be just an ordinary seashell so he picked it up and pocketed it.

As he got closer to the end up the sandy area he saw something farther away. He cautiously moved closer to it and when he found out it was a person he moved a little faster toward it.

He stared down at the person in awe. He was quite beautiful. He had luscious blond hair that looked soft to the touch and gorgeous pale skin that contrasted to Rye sun kissed tan skin. He was dressed it what looked to be a long shirt with shorts peaking underneath. His body was covered in wet sand and sea shells.

Rye decided to try and shake him awake. He tapped at his arms, then lightly slapped at his face when he didn't wake. Rye pushed, poked and prodded at the boy but he simply stayed put. So Rye decided to do the next best thing, scream at him.

"HEY WAKE UP" he shouted at the poor boy which made him open his eyes immediately. He looked around wide eyed and panicked. His eyes then landed on Rye and he froze. Rye also froze as his honey colored eyes locked with the ocean blue ones.

They continued to stare at each other, neither they making a move to speak and not really knowing what to say. "Uhhh who are you?" Rye asks the stranger after the long uncomfortable silence. The mystery boy clears his throat and mutters "Andy" coughing loudly after.

"Well, Andy do you live somewhere close? I can walk you home" Rye offers since it was getting late and if he wasn't home before dinner, his dad would kill him. Andy looks at him sideways "no I don't really have a home" Andy said then mumbling "anymore" lowly so Rye couldn't hear him.

"Well you can always go home with me" Rye offers with a crooked smile. Andy stared at him in awe as a smile spread across his face. He got up off the ground and dusted some of the sand off of his clothes before following Rye back to the entrance of the docks.

"Oh I'm Rye by the way" Rye says stopping to stick out his hand. Andy stared at him in confusion then to his outstretched hand and back to his face. Rye just took Andy's hand in his, shaking it firmly before letting it go quickly.

"Nice to meet you Andy" Rye says smiling at him then continuing to walk ahead. Andy speeds up so he was in the same pace as him. "Nice to meet you as well Rye" Andy says as they walked together talking about random things like they'd been friends forever.
