" girl, give me your full attention and listen. From now on, you will be living into a different house. You will have your new family to take care of you. Dont ask why... Now get dressed and stop crying"

That was the last words I remember my mother told me when she was about to give me to unfamiliar people. It was dark that time, we stealthily walk down the street and only a few passersby were there. No one really cared what were doing as I was covered with an oversized black jacket and my mom with her usual plain shirt and jeans. Mom has always been mysterious and prim. I was itching to ask her what was going on but I do not have enough courage to do so. She has always been final with what she decides to do and I know it'll be a waste of time to prod at her.  We were walking on a shabby street where commoners were settled, we walked slowly  and mom did not utter a single word. Suddenly a car were waiting and honking at us. No backsteps taken we hurriedly went inside the car. I was just there suppressing my bursting tears and just holding her hand, reassuring myself nothing's gonna happen but something was really off. The driver, the man beside us were too scary for me but then theres no one to talk to right?. We were entering an affluent area were houses were built magnanimously and ornated with intricate designs and suddently a giant gate suprised us and outside the door  we were welcomed with people in neat clothes and strange faces..

Mom brought me to an orphanage as she described it for lost and sold children and I was one of the purchased. I know that and its clear that the lady with the shiny lips held her palm and placed tons of money  then she just passed over me without saying goodbye. During that time I tried to chase her bellowing  'WHY'  but the lady hold me tight then faced me in front of her.

" Beautiful girl, no need to chase, I am your mama now. She's gone, she will never come back. Look, she left you. You know what pretty kid, call me Mamang I will love you more than what she did. Okay"

No other words I can say but "why".

I was then escorted inside the mansion with Mamang's grip on me.
Though somehow Mamang's dangling shiny earings and crimson lips where she plastered her smile shut me up to just stay with her. I dont know why could that  be my way of saying Goodbye to my mother as well?. I love my mom but I dont have a choice but to respect her decisions. I was always raised by her that way anyway.

Whatever  is in her mind right now though.. I hope she will be okay as well.  Goodbye Mom!

And now Its been over 20 years since that time. Sure, it was a sad and  blurry past but I am completely what I need to be. I am the most cherished daughter of my foster mother "Mamang".
