STORY CREATED BY lolieslife
You had woken up from a nightmare. You recognized the man in your dreams as the one you had met at the club.
You went to the roof of the institute to clear your mind. Everything has just been so crazy. You didn't want your old life back because finally, somebody cared for you here, but you couldn't deny that you missed some aspects of your old life.
Your mom never paid much attention to you because Clary always outshined you, but that didn't mean that she never gave you love. You missed her hugs and the late-night talks you had when you couldn't sleep.
You sighed, looking at the beautiful skyline in front of you.
"Can't sleep?" Jace asked from behind you.
"No" you replied softly waiting for him to stand next to you.
"I couldn't sleep either, thank you for asking" he replied sarcastically with a grin on his face as he leaned on the railing with his back towards the city view.
You didn't answer, nor did you move an inch as his arms brushed merely against yours. You just looked straight ahead.
"Something's troubling you. What's up?" He asked.
"To be honest, I don't know. My life has had a major upgrade, but I still feel so empty. Like something's missing and I don't know what." You replied.
"What do you mean?" He asked surprised by your sudden confession.
"All my life I've felt like something was missing. Like a part of me just wasn't there. I thought that it was because I've never fit in, but I don't think that's the case anymore. I feel great here like I belong, but that feeling is still nagging" you tried to explain what you felt.
"Is that why you couldn't sleep?" He asked.
"No not really" you mumbled.
"You know what I like to do when I can't sleep?" He asked.
"Let me guess go to the training room? Or no go look for a hookup?" You asked unimpressed.
He chuckled at your answers at bowed his head a bit so his hair fell in front of his face. "Close, but no. Come on I'll show you"
You were hesitant to take his outstretched hand.
"Do you trust me?" Jace asked.
"No, I learned not to trust anyone and my own mother has been the proof of that" you replied.
"Oh come on. You've been hanging around Alec too much. You're starting to become bitter as well" he rolled his eyes as a smirk was placed on his lips.
"Whatever" you rolled your eyes too, but took his hand, letting him lead you to whatever place he had in mind.
You were lead into a room full of bookshelves and a piano in the middle of the room. Jace took place at the piano as you stood in the doorway.
"Maybe close that so I won't wake anyone up," he said motioning to the door behind you. You did as told and stepped further in the room. Your hands trailed over the covers of the old books as Jace started to play.
Your attention quickly turned towards him as you hear him flawlessly play. You looked as his hands gracefully glided over the keys.
You were somehow drawn to him and before you knew it, you were sitting next to him. You watched as he continued playing. His face had pure concentration written on it.
He could feel you looking at him so he slowly let the melody come to an end. His hands hovered over the keys for a bit before he slowly turned his attention towards you.
