The "Fear" Case Files-Journal of Detective Reese

October 20th - 31st 20XX (1 year later)

I think that this...thing, this creature is not of this mortal plane. Weird words for me to be saying, but trust me. This thing can possess a person that has done something (what this is, I haven't figured out quite yet), and control them until they are in full control. They can stop the aging process (if we can only market this!), but the thing makes them change into something the victim is not. I was able to make a chart of how the people change based on the victim's sex.
Women become something like club goers. They party more, drink, and in some cases do drugs. They soon become 'smartasses' and get themselves into trouble often. This is soon followed by a physical change.
Men are a little different. They also drink more, but are more promiscuous, having many partners. In a very old book, this being, as a man, was found to own a whole harem before being killed by the nearby village.
The being then makes the victim short tempered and violent. At the first moment of violence...the creature-controlled person vanishes, never to be seen until the victim is found dead later, or years later.

How could the PD do this?! They put me on medical leave! For my mental health! I went to the Chief with this information on the being, but the department called me CRAZY! Unbelievable! Ugh...I guess I shouldn't get so angry. I get to spend more time with my Evie. She's been out of her room more, making more friends at the community college near [REDACTED]. Marie, my wife, has been saying that Evie has picked up some bad habits from these new friends. She's more quick witted now, making family dinners much more interesting. I think Marie is just overreacting because of our daughter growing up. Evie is smart and I trust her.

Tomorrow is Halloween. We have our house decorated and even Evie helped! Evie has so many more ideas than she did last year. This year had a theme of the creepy circus. I don't know where she got the idea, but we made it work. I'm just so thankful that she survived the accident and...I don't know where I'd be if I lost her.

Halloween...Evie's favorite holiday. Her and Jasmine are going as a pair. I had to stop Jasmine from going out as a...sexy snow white...teenagers nowadays...She's now wearing a much more appropriate version of the snow white costume. Evie is going as an assassin, a costume that she made herself. She was really excited and actually got her hair dyed black. "To blend into the shadows better" she says. She looks great. Evie and Jasmine had left an hour ago to hang out with some friends, so they should be safe. Marie and I were planning on staying inside, handing out candy, and watching a good, old classic horror movie. They have a marathon going for the old 80s classics.
I can't get the cases out of my head and hope that the being is far away from here.
