Later that morning I went to the park to meet Eddie. I was a little bit early, so I sat under a tree while I waited for him to arrive. It was a hot day, something that rarely happened in Derry; it was always raining.

I lifted my head a few minutes later to the sound of leaves crunching, and was Eddie was walking towards me.

He was wearing a light blue sweater that was sliding down his slim frame, exposing his shoulders. His chestnut brown curls bounced up and down as he ran towards me. He had a big smile on his face, and he waved at me.

I fumbled with my glasses, pushing them up my nose and waved back at him.

'Hey Richie,'

'Hey Eds.'

He looked up, a confused yet amused expression on his face.

'Eds?' He asked, a smirk appearing on his face. 'How did you come up with that?'

'Dont know, I feel like its suits you' I replied, placing my chin in my hand. I hope he couldn't see my flustered cheeks.

'Nicknames? Ok then. Let me see...'

We sat in silence as he thought about for a while. A little bit later, his face lit up, a gorgeous smile appearing on his face.

'I got it! How about 'Chee'? Like RiCHEE?'

I let out a laugh, and put an arm around him.

'Alright then, Eds and Chee.'

For the rest of the day, we talked and laughed about things.

He played with the flowers in the grass, and I noticed how beautiful he was all over again.

The splash of freckles over his nose and rosy cheeks. His hazel eyes that glittered in the sunlight. His tanned skin that made him look like he had been laying on the beach for hours. The small dimples on his cheeks when he smiled.

He looked like an angel.

He pushed a lock of hair off his face as he smiled, and he picked a flower out of the grass and lifted his gaze to me.

'Daises are my favourite flower. They're so pretty.'

'Just like you,'

He chuckled, and looked down at his knees.

I turned around and picked up a daisy from behind me, and I tilted his chin upwards to face me. He looked into my eyes, and I placed the flower behind his ear in his hair.

'Beautiful,' I said as I laughed softly.

He laughed as well, and we both stood up. The sky was darkening behind us, the sun slowly setting.

'Thanks 'Chee. I had a great time.'

'Anytime, Spaghetti Man,'

He smiled, and I wrapped my arms around his waist, pulling him into a hug. He stood on his toes and curled his arms around my neck, laying his head on my shoulder.

Eddie lifted his head, pressing his forehead against mine. I looked up and hoped he couldn't feel my heart beating out my chest.

'Bye, 'Chee.'

'See ya Eds.'
