She was gone, and he couldn't do anything about that and it killed him inside. If he had gotten there a second earlier, maybe the puddle of blood wouldn't be there alongside your abandoned seraph blade and stele beside it also covered in blood. Maybe you would be standing there fighting the damn thing that took you from him. And he would be able to help you but no, he was too slow and that resulted in losing you.
They arrived at the institute not long after, no one had spoken a word and he was gracefully because if one more person asked if he was okay, he was going to kill them. He wanted revenge but he was trying to think what she would want him to do, there was no way she'd want him to go to the ends of earth to find the damn downworlder that did this- even though that was exactly what he wanted to do.
He went straight to the training room, afraid that if he went anywhere else, that punching bag would be switched with a person, It wasn't long until he was completely invested in beating the shit out of the punching bag in front of him. He hadn't cried yet over the lose of his girlfriend mostly because it hadn't hit him yet, her body wasn't there which meant there was a chance and very small chance but that's better than nothing.
He froze just as he went to lay another punch on the bag, closing his eyes softly. Reminiscing of his memories with her since that's all he had now and the hope that she was still alive.

"You do realise you're meant to hit me right?" Jace asked with a smirk playing on his lips, swinging his stick around in his hand, like he was trying to show off to her. But she had to admit, seeing Jace without a shirt on was always a plus for her.
"Really? I thought i was just meant to stand here and look pretty" She shrugged her shoulders, before she suddenly, swung her wooden stick out towards him which he was quick to block, a satisfying noise coming from the contact between their wooden weapons.
"Well I must admit, you are doing one hell of a job doing it" He winked at her, which she couldn't help but smile at but before he could say anything else trying to distract her, she took her opportunity. She quickly kicked her leg up, hitting him in the side, winding him in the process before she spun around around him before she stood behind him, her stick hitting the back of his left knee causing him to land in a proposal position.
She walked until she was in front of him, tapping her chin and she held confused face as Jace's eyes followed her every movement until she turned in front of him. "You know, Jace- normally when someone proposes they have a ring, not a wooden stick"
He chuckled, his stick that she had mentioned quickly slipped between her ankles, before he swiped her leg causing her to fall right into his arms.
"Trust me, when I propose to you. It's going to be a lot better than that. I'm thinking, right, hear me out-" She shakes her head, before connecting her lips with her boyfriend to stop him from rambling on about his perfect proposal.
She moved her lips away before brushing some hair behind his ear "I want it to be a surprise, and i can't wait for that day to be Y/N Wayland"
Jace couldn't stop looking at her in amazement, how could he get so lucky to have her. He loved her, and he didn't care if she didn't feel the same because he knew and he was so sure of it that he could scream it from the rooftops where everyone could hear but he didn't care because he loved you.
"I love you" His eyes closed quickly, he had a fair idea that you felt the same but that feeling of doubt and grief just always there and it was something he could never get rid of.
"I've been in love with you since i first saw you, Jace Wayland." His eyes snapped opened, seeing her smile just made him ten times happier than he already was before he wrapped his arms tighter around her waist before spinning her around in a bone-crushing hug, her laughter filling the air around them before they come together in a kiss. Everything was perfect...
Jace quickly jumped and opened his eyes as a hand touched his shoulder, his hands quickly fling up to under his eyes, he let out a sigh of relief. no tears, not yet, have hope. Alec stood in front of him with a worried look on his face.
"Magnus invited us to this club tonight, and with everything that happened today i thought you could use a drink?" Alec questioned, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. He wasn't sure what to say to his parabatai that had just lost the love of his life, his face wasn't as bright and he hadn't cried yet which only meant soon he had to explode with all these emotions that he was keeping in but Alec was going to be there the whole right by his side.
"You know; a drink sounds like the world right now"

Her eyes snapped open, instantly noticing the rope that was tied around her hands and feed, especially the blood already dripping from her wrists. She was overly pissed off, this was meant to be a basic mission. Just a couple demons and she was done, and she had it done in at least twenty minutes until the one and only, Valentine decided to make an appearance and she wanted to think she had a chance but with that demon blood coursing in his veins, she knew she didn't, but she did get one of his stupid circle members which made her feel less mad about it.
"About time you're awake, i was thinking i hit you a little too hard" He chuckled as he walked past her over and over again, it felt like he wa taunting her.
"And that would be such a shame. Soon, Alex, Izzy, Clary and Jace will be here and wipe that huge smile on your face" Y/n gritted through her clenched teeth, as she tried to free herself of the binds around her wrists but nothing was happened except for the horrific pain of friction from the rope and her flesh.
His hearty laughter made her heart drop, it didn't matter how tough she made out to be, Valentine was a man that didn't care for consequences and he wanted to be feared and he was. "You think they'd come for you, Warlock!"
She flinched slightly at his raised voice as she moved her legs and arms around trying to break free but nothing was working and she was getting agitated but she froze once she saw Dot enter the room. She didn't know much about the warlock but she was positive that she wasn't burn with those black lines caressing her face and she had no doubt those were from Valentine.
"Can you please show, Y/n, what her friends have been up to since they had heard about her absence"Valentine quirked, She rolled her eyes at him, she knew that Jace would be probably yelling at everyone in the institute to track her down even though she always thought that was too over the top, it was better to be calm and not blow up but that wasn't really his scene.
But as soon as Dot placed her hands on Y/n's temples, her eye turns completely white as she watches Jace and Alec laughing and drinking at the bar, she almost felt like she was there but she couldn't move, all she could so is watch him be happy and she was missing. She wanted to believe that he didn't know that she got in trouble but she knew that Izzy would have been able to feel her in pain through their parabatai bond.
She gasped as Dot removed her hands, a look of sorrow covering her features as she backed away from the her.
"Do you see, Y/n? If you stay here and side with me, i won't let you be forgotten" She looked away from him not wanting to meet his eyes until she decided, she wanted to scream no and try and fight her way out of the hell hole she was in but remembering Jace's smile it was almost like she never existed, she started to almost feel angry, furious even as her fiery gaze met his cold and isolating ones.
"I'll stand beside, but i won't kill downworlders for you"
He grimaced as he rubbed his hand on his face "Fine, but when the time comes. You will need to show me your loyalty remember that"
