World War 3.

Nuclear bombs were the main weapon.

The radiation killed millions.

Our world was reduced to rubble.

Our water was poisoned.

Our food supply was ruined.

Animals were mutating.

Some humans as well.

The weather changed drastically.

Droughts and ice storms were usual.

The survivors banded together.

And escaped their actions, their undoing.

The rest were LEFT BEHIND

YEAR:2059

The fog hid the ship but I knew it was there. Lights flickered like a landing UFO. The roar of the engine was deafening. I ran as fast as my swollen stomach would allow. My husband was at my side, jogging to match my pace.

The countdown was just audiable. 15... 14... 13... I tried to gain speed but my leg failed and I fell. My vision blurred and I felt my husband pick me up. He ran. Somehow even with my weight we moved faster than we had when I was running. I screamed for him to put me down but he ignored me.

When my vision cleared, I saw that the ship had finished its preperations and was beginning to lift off the ground. I howled at the ship even though I knew the passengers had no chance of hearing me. I knew we'd never make it.

Hope lost, I closed my eyes and bent my head. I knew we'd die. Starvation or thirst would kill us, if the poison didn't beat them to it. Our baby wouldn't have a chance.

Then suddenly I was flying through the air. My eyes flew open and I realized that my husband had thrown me up to the ship. The deck was open and I grabbed for the edge.

My first instinct was survival and I painfully tried to pull myself up. Hands grabbed me and I fell into safety. Then it hit me. My husband was still down there. I threw myself to the edge. My husband stood watching me. I screamed his name.

Tears steaming down my face. The deck shuttered then started to close. I protested as I slid down. Before he went out of view, he waved to me, I waved back and that was the last time I saw him.

The ship lifted off Earth. The green land even darker and the once blue seas now boiling red. I was pushed along by a crowd. "Please move to the Sleep Deck for cryogenic transport" a PA system ordered. I found a pod and layed down. The lid sealed and I fell into darkness.

My new life was about to begin and I knew that it would not go well for me... Or my family.

Authors Note:

Welocome to our book! We hope you like the prologue! Our goal is to get 10 reads! Just 10! Then we'll post the first chapter! Now before you start the judging we'd like to say that the part above is nowhere near the best of our ability and it is only meant as foreshadowing!!! ooooo Wouldn't you like to know what will happen! Share this with your friends and the next part will be up in no time! Also this is co written and co edited by two friends so it should be fail free but who knows I'm the main writer and I get writer's block a LOT so ... I guess we'll see! That's all for now, until next time readers!
